breaking out HORRIBLY after accidental dairy consumption

ive been dairy free for 5 years now. it was originally to control some of my IBS flareups but i noticed significant improvement with my skin when i cut out dairy. i had pretty bad acne my entire life and removing dairy has rendered my skin completely clear. accidentally consuming the smallest bit of dairy will bring me right back to square 1 and its horribly frustrating. even lactose free stuff will break me out and i wish people would stop assuming lactose free and dairy free are the same 💔

how do i make an object attached to a crane stop moving through the floor?

hey! im a nuclear engineering intern and funny enough my project is to create a simulator in unity (i have no experience.) it’s an overhead crane that picks up an object. i can pick up and drop the object just fine, but i want to find a way to write the code so that the crane will stop moving downward when the attached object detects the floor collider. how would i do this?

update on the rescued kitten

decided to keep him and name him atomic bomb (atom b for short)!

he had an initial vet screening and got all of the vaccines available to him at 4 weeks old. overall he’s happy and healthy and will be going to the vet again in 3 weeks once he’s a little older. he’s having some slight dietary issues but i believe its due to the transition to wet food (but i will call the vets to ask on monday just to be sure).

thank you all for the advice on the previous post!

just rescued a stray cat

hey! not a first time cat owner (my family’s cat is now turning 10) but recently rescued a stray while interning in another state. it will be taken to the vet momentarily when it opens. this is my first time owning a cat as an adult so i have a couple questions and concerns.

  1. i currently work 10 hours a day, four days out of the week. will i be able to give this kitten adequate attention? i have a roommate but i doubt she’ll help out much

  2. how much does the first couple vet trips cost? im estimating around $200 but not sure if thats too low

  3. i will have to move back home in 6 weeks, as well as back to school in about 2 weeks. will a kitten at this age be able to handle all of that moving well?

  4. to try and save some money, im gonna ask some friends and coworkers if they have old cat toys. if they are properly sanitized, will it be okay to use?

thank you all for reading and for any advice!

i believe i may not be being compensated properly

im currently working an internship this summer and was told through the official posting, in my offer letter, and on the website that my pay is based on my current academic position via completed credit hours. when i got the internship, i was a sophomore and received a pay accordingly. i am now a junior by their completed credit criteria. the handbook provided states that interns are eligible for pay raises if their academic standing changes before or during the internship. i emailed my internship coordinator with my transcript to ask but havent received a response in over a week. several of my coworkers did the same with no response. i recently heard that another coworker was told that the intern coordinator is no longer honoring the handbook and are intending to change it. its shitty that we’re being completely left in the dark and several of us are thinking about contesting this if we aren’t being compensated properly. im just not sure how to go about this or if its a dead end, any advice is appreciated

i know that these classes are typically very hard, but it sounds like EVERYONE is suffering this finals season. i dont remember it being this bad last semester. the whole 240 situation and the constant firing of ECE 2k1 coordinators adds to this as well. my big theory is that AI usage is so rampant that these coordinators are trying to level it out with difficult finals. i wonder what this means for the future of these classes and majors.

im a sophomore at a t10 school for engineering. im doing really well in my nuclear core classes, but in my non major classes like dynamics i really struggle with burnout and mental endurance. i tried so hard to get a cumulative gpa above 3.00 this semester but its looking like ill end with a 2.97-2.99. im feeling extremely defeated and worried about future job prospects. for reference, my resume all around is really strong. i have two internships, just got a job in radionuclide lab research on campus, two exec positions for clubs, design team for a nuclear electronics club, etc. how much does gpa actually matter in the long run? am i doing okay with my current status? all advice appreciated, thank you
