What tracks from the Birkenhead band should make the playlist?
After being criticised for always playing ‘Joy Division Oven Gloves’ on StereoUnderground, host Richard Latto has made the band featured artist this week. Known for their razor sharp, biting lyrics & post punk indie sound HMHB manage to mix humour & bleakness in equal measure.
I do believe that their lyrics to National Shite Day are simply brilliant:
“Fat kids with sausage rolls
Poor sods conducting polls
There's a man with a mullet going mad with a mallet in Millets”

I’m thinking the Sleepwalk 12” released for RSD 2020. It was never available on 12” when it was released as the debut single of the Midge Ure era of the band back in 1980.
