Repeat EUS for Staging Friday

After diagnosis, PET, Surg Onc, and Med Onc appointments. I’m finally getting a repeat EUS this coming Friday @WVU to stage and check KI67% nearly a year from the original “benign” EUS.

PET in late August was hot for primary tumor, plus 3 micro pancreatic tumors and local node.

Quite honestly, I’m still mad as hell at Vandalia/CAMC for botching this so bad/failing to investigate and now needing another anesthesia event to stage. There have been discussions, and I hope they’ll have to answer for their own actions.

Currently on Cabergoline 0.25mg twice a week for a 7mm micro benign pituitary tumor. Med Onc’s plan is Lanreotide injections once a month post EUS.

Honestly can’t say enough good things about WVU’s whole operation and how well the care team collaborates, plus the support and resources given.

Here we go.

First Build in 15 Years

The last few years haven’t been kind with my mother and myself both receiving a cancer diagnosis coupled with a divorce on my end.

Went with a higher-mid range build with plans to one day upgrade the GPU further and add another M2 SSD. Ultimately plan to run triple monitors and a sim cockpit.

Ready to run some games and make some memories with my kids; not to mention kick this cancers ass.

Had to show some WVU love as CFB season approaches. Country Roads Take Me Home.

Monitor Recommendations?

Looking for recommendations for monitor choices? Starting off with a single, and eventually moving up to triple 32” flats for iRacing.

New build, will be running a RTX5070 with a 9850X3D.

Surg Onc Referral

Well. Transferring Onc’s as Vandalia/CAMC don’t seem interested in doing anything until it’s too late. Got referred to a NET specialist at WVU, and got a call about 10 days ago that the doctor I requested thinks I’m a better candidate for surg onc.

The doctor in question is HIGHLY regarded and specializes in NETs/MEN1 as well.

That referral change was an unexpected bit of info, and they got me in on a cancellation this upcoming week. I’m thankful to hopefully be getting answers and a plan put in place though.

So far, no growth beyond previous MRI. Loads of abnormal lab results painting a broader picture (except a VIP that LabCorp hasn’t resulted after nearly 3 weeks.)

Fingers crossed for the best path.

Sim Build Rig

Previous background in computer repair/networking prior to becoming a nurse. Now fast forward 15 years and I’m looking to part together a build as a hobby for sims. Mainly just looking to run iRacing or MSFS24. Starting with a single monitor and moving up to triples in the future (27 vs 32”.) Purchasing for current use, but also for long term compatibility/upgradability as well.

Focusing on the tower at this point and would happily buy a component at a time as I go. Budget ~2000-2200$ for the tower itself.

Thinking:

AMD Ryzen 7 9850x3D
Whatever Board. Nothing fancy, just built in WiFi.
32GB DDR5
RTX 5070 GPU
ATX Case with 3+ Fans
Some form of 240mm or 360 Liquid Cooler
850-1000W PSU
1TB M.2 SSD

Located in USA. Amazon is the easy go-to. Best Buy tends to be more expensive than others. MicroCenter isn’t a thing here, closest stores are 4+ hours away and from what I can tell, they prioritize in store shopping over shipping.

However, they are currently running a bundle on a Ryzen 9850, MOBO, and 32GB RAM for 800$ that would save a bit compared to purchasing piecemeal. https://www.microcenter.com/product/5007354/AMD\_Ryzen\_7\_9850X3D,\_ASUS\_B850E\_TUF\_Gaming\_WiFi\_AM5,\_Corsair\_Vengeance\_RGB\_32GB\_DDR5-6000\_Kit,\_Computer\_Build\_Bundle?\_gl=1\*4f3xtf\*\_gcl\_aw\*R0NMLjE3ODE3MzE3NzYuQ2owS0NRandpOG5SQmhEaEFSSXNBSFpmX3BiNEliVmhnbklhNV9mTmxnSnB1M00ybVhCbW1HQVNWcVFXUTZfbURENFVQanpBQ3lUbW9Jb2FBbnpJRUFMd193Y0I.\*\_gcl\_au\*MTg0NDc2Njc1Ni4xNzgxNzMxNzcw\*\_ga\*MTA2ODUyNDQ0MC4xNzgxNzMxNzcx\*\_ga\_CSBPEX4VCV\*czE3ODIwMDI2NjckbzkkZzAkdDE3ODIwMDI2NjckajYwJGwxJGgzOTk2OTI1NzA.

First Build in 15 Years

A little background, prior to becoming a nurse; I took a technical vocational certification in high school in computer technology/networking and earned CompTIA’s and the works. Somewhere I’ve got tools and grounding pads, etc.
