Do Asian women not wear wedding rings?

Just a casual observation. When I’m out, very frequently I see Asian woman with young children, but they’re not worrying a wedding ring. I’m curious if they are single moms, or is this just a cultural thing where they typically don’t wear wedding rings.

Is this deck legit?

(Also posted in r/decks)

We have a deck which is not physically attached to the house. It is about 14’ long (from the house) and about 11” across. It is level with a patio door in the rear of the house. It is set on free-standing 8” cinder block as shown in the photos. There are three rows, each about 6’ apart and each with three piles of block. The ones nearest the house are 5 blocks high, the other rows are 4 blocks high.

We purchased the home as you see it about 26 years ago (Nassau County, town of Hempstead), and it passed inspection back then.

Now the deck needs to be replaced. I was thinking of making it shorter to about 8’ from the house. Is this foundation legit? It has been stable all these years. Or does it need to be replaced? If we shorten the deck so it is only seated on two rows of block, does that make it worse?

Thanks in advance for your comments!

Need ideas urgently

Edit: thanks all for your comments and advice. It looks like this will have to wait until Monday but I appreciate everyone’s rapid responses 👍

OK, not sure if this is the right sub, but here goes. My wife has a 24 V high capacity charger. The cable to the connector broke as you can see in the photo. I need to reattach the black wire to the connector that fits into the red housing

I do not have a crimping tool or new connectors to reattach this. I was thinking of soldering, but I don’t know if that would work. Plus, I don’t have a soldering iron with enough heat capacity to handle the size connector.

She needs to get this working tonight, so any ideas would be welcome thank you
