Proxy question for the community

I have a few questions about proxies and would love to know what everyone thinks!

  1. If you were against proxies and are now in favor of them what changed your mind? And vice versa?

  2. Is there a limit to the amount of proxies you'll play against or use yourself personally? Like 1-2 expensive cards vs the entire deck being proxied.

After the goblin storm fiasco and barge encouraging people to proxy the deck i was curious about what yall thought about it!

For me personally I proxied a bunch of rat colonies for my rat deck as well as serra's sanctum for my light paws deck.

I know he's not a legal commander but he seemed fun to brew so I started looking at legendary non creature artifacts to be his partner and saw balamb garden, seed academy, a land that transforms into a legendary non creature artifact. So my questions are as follows:

  1. is this a valid partner for precious?

  2. would this make my color identity UBG?
