so, ive been playing myteam since 2k19, and nba 2k since 2k11. im very good at the older games, was decent enough from 19-21, and returned to 2k26 since 2k21 and i SUCK online. i have a good squad (badged out everyone), but im having more fun squad building than actually playing. and even that's taken a hit. ill expand on this.

there's no triple threat online. i hate triple threat park, as i can only control one person and i cant even get a touch or two in. tto was one of my favorite modes in 2k myteam bc it was quick, online gameplay that scratched that online itch. and, best of all, the rewards were actually good sometimes. the ball drops were casino-like but it was fun.

tokens were removed. yall remember diamond mo peterson, opal giannis from 2k19, amethyst roco, etc? tokens made collecting fun, and it was like having a playable basketball card collection

position locks: i dont really need to explain this too much. we all hate them, and it was just a money grab for 2k. remember when 2k said "no more andrei kirelenko at pg"? ha. funny thing is, ak47 at pg wasnt even that bad because he was a 3 and d guy with an op release, but not the best dribble sigs. so, even though it wasnt fair, it still felt like you could compete. you couldnt put a thon maker at sg bc he wouldve been too slow and clunky. it was balanced enough without position locks.

no dip: i literally cant get a contest on people. and, having the option to change how you green sucks bc it rewards people with the best internet connection and not the game itself. we all had to know how to time releases in older 2ks, but now, every card has the same rotation of bases/releases that are just too hard to challenge. for example, galaxy opal kareem in 2k19 was good, but he had a kareem release. same with shaq. and those cards were "cheeseballs" at the time. now it's just ridiculous.

i just bought ps plus to play online, but i feel like i wasted my money, at least for 2k. the game was become too maximalist for me, and i fear we can never go back to the days where the highest tier was galaxy opal and even then cards not being 99 everything. sorry for the rant/complaint. im usually the last person to complain about 2k, but these are mine lol

when did these release? i was tracking the sneakernews page for them every so often but there wasnt a definitive date. then just today, i realized it was august 1st. i heard nothing about these, and i dont even see a "sold out" page for them on the nike website
