Going to LeedsFest alone, I'm really nervous and not ready at all

So, I was meant to go with another person but now they cant go. I'm 17 and I am going to the quiet camp and will be in the solo area but I am really nervous for what the festival is like. I am still not ready and not sure what to take at all other than a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat and some form of food and snacks and drinks. Can anyone give any advice? Do I need a lock for my tent? Just tips, tricks, etc.

If anyone wants to make friends I guess, Private Message me and hopefully we might see each other.

Tarot, Sin & God

First of all, I feel more comfortable asking this question in here than the main Christianity subreddit so that is why it is in here.

As background, my denomination is Anglican/Episcopol.

So, I am not too sure if I am being dragged by temptation or what but I fear that tarot is trying to grab my attention. I love God but have being aware but partially interested by the idea of tarot for a while but not yet partaken. I am worried it will open me up to spiritual weakness but I am unsure what to do?

If it isnt wrong for me to take part then are there decks that "glorify God more than some others". I understand I am likely being stupid and should look towards scripture but I dont know what to do.

Channel 4 Tip Toe, Spoilers Ahead

All episodes are on Channel 4 Streaming Service despite not all episodes airing on terrestrial tv until Tuesday evening. See a summary and my opinions of the show below.

>!>!The show follows a gay bar owner called Leo who lives and works in Manchester. His neighbour, Clive, is an electrician who is someone who is very much on the right wing of the political spectrum. Little does he know, he has two sons, one of which is gay and another who is doing OF. Long story short, his son who is gay, George, goes round to Leo's house daily because they have a spare key and let's himself in. Clive assumes that Leo has "infected" his son with gayness and things take a turn for the worse when on a football match day, Clive hosts a watch party and Leo is hung from a lamppost publicly for all to see. He is later accused if you searched up his name in the tv universe of being a convicted paedophile even though nothing of that sort happens.!<!<

>!So, I watched this show, not really knowing what to expect other than a serious, close to real life drama thriller by RTD. I am shocked, it is amazing, traumatic and mentally scarring. The foreshadowing at episode 1 does not give even the sense of scale of what happens at the end of episode 5.!<

>!Long story short, they kill Alan Cumming's character but in a way that seems so realistic that as a gay person myself, it scares me, it scares me a lot.!<

>!How can people do these sorts of things? Either way this show is still amazing, though mentally and emotionally challenging to almost breaking point for me.!<

>!This show is necessary despite its very difficult nature and scenes. I hope people who watch this and think "this doesn't surely happen". Well, news flash, it does, it has and it will again.!<

>!The show is a realistic extended metaphor and allegory for the relentless fight queer people still have to go through, daily, just to be respected and not 'taken down' or in this case 'strung up'. I hope everyone takes time to watch this show and understand its meaning.!<!<

Gender Questioning

Hi All,

This is likely difficult for me to explain so bare with me. It probably isn't best me asking this to random people on the Internet but here we go. I am currently a Cisgender gay man but don't always feel male and I was just wondering what it was.

I basically don't feel like the 'male' identity always applies to me and only sometimes, I don't feel body dysmorphia though either. I still would like to use He/Him pronouns and They/Them pronouns but I am not sure what label I am.

I know I don't have to put a label on it but just to try and organise my brain, I would like to.

If anyone can give me any help or point me in the right direction, that would be great.

Thanks.

Current and future GCSE students

I know I am a bit late for this but good luck for your exams. As silly as it sounds, enjoy it because the best bit is actually the gaps in between your exams when you see your friends, when you're in revision sessions with eachother if you're not on study leave. Last year, I became close to people I never thought I would. It was some of the best times of my life even though I was basically surviving on water and cereal bars. But seriously, enjoy life guys, good luck in your exams and don't worry about the Porter or Edna, they can't harm you. I had to write about a goddamn table.

Someone from my church told me I would burn

So I am fairly new to using reddit more frequently for things such as communication between other Christians so this story is a little bit old but just wanted some thoughts on it I suppose where no one really knows who I am, I guess. So in 2022 I confessed and started to believe in Jesus and that he is the Lord our God with the Holy Spirit.

I had being to church with my mum from a very young age and as most people who grew up in a church I am assuming the first prayer you tend to learn and memorise is the Lord's Prayer. Church and going with my mum helped me to learn how to read, write and speak faster than the average infant seemingly along with my grandma helping me read. But never really understood God or his presence in my life. At times I got upset and cried because I never understood Easter and why Jesus had to die if he was so good. Anyway, that is by the by.

I came out as gay in 2020 to my family and they were fine with it but I realised that religion probably wouldn't allow it but I learned how to keep it hidden in church and around people who were going to be less accepting whether that be strangers, friends or family.

In 2022 I started believing and that year I started "baptism classes" at a church I went to (not the one me and my mum went to since I was young) and someone who I had known for a long time, was my age but slightly older than me but always good friends. Anyway, before my "confirmation" baptism in 2023 he told me, because he knew I was gay but kept it secret, that when I would step in the water and get submerged I would burst into flames or burn or something like that. Anyway, it didnt bother me too much, upset me a little bit but ultimately I knew that I most likely wouldn't. I got baptised fine and everything, I didn't burn but I just wanted people's thoughts on it. I am still happily homo, and a christian but just need guidance and support I guess.

Sorry for the ranting and rambling, just thought people for context should know a lot of my story and Christian journey, if people require clarification or further context please let me know.

UK Scouts Gold Award

So I am now an explorer scout in the UK and want to earn my Gold Award but to do this I need to complete my World Challenge badge which requires me to make contact with a scout from another country. So, a question just so I can prove it to my leaders. What is scouting like in your country? Private message me if possible as well. Thanks.
