I thought I would never see this day 🥹

I’m not sure if this should be tagged as Fluff or Discussion so forgive me if I didn’t use the right flair.

Never thought I would use Cryo of all elements to help with getting cc40, considering how anti-cryo CC is. I’d been trying to get to cc40 and I was failing to even get cc35. Turns out a major reason was skill issue and dodging.

All I did was spam TangTang’s skill and use Wulfgard’s combo skill (or his battle skill if combo skill didn’t show). Xaihi was just used for healing, and I found out the hard way that lift is considered a crowd control effect (don’t use Estella’s ultimate).

Tangtang is P0, and so are all of the weapons.

Overall seemed like a more comfortable clear compared to other cc40 runs I’ve seen on here in terms of criteria difficulty.

Here’s the code if anyone wants to try it: 00H04J9R6X4A02J

What can I do?

Because of our store switching systems, only two of the managers have the ability to make schedule changes. I found this out when I asked a manager during my shift yesterday if he could take me off on Thursday the next week (it was Tuesday when I asked this). He said he didn't have the ability to make changes, only A and B do.

I call the store the next day and B picks up the phone. Now listen, the reason I needed Thursday off was because I have a final for a summer class. The problem is, my teacher didn't announce the date of the final until Monday. I told B all of this and told her I wouldn't be able to come next Thursday cause I have a final that day. She then proceeded to lecture me about how it's MY FAULT for not notifying them of this three weeks prior for an exam that my teacher only notified us of TWO DAYS AGO.

But then she told me it's my responsibility to find coverage for my shift next Thursday. That's supposed to be the manager's job, not mine! It's not my fault you're understaffed! She said I can release the shift into the open shift pool on Workjam, but the problem is that the shift only appears on the paper schedule (it doesn't show up on Workjam).

I don't even have anyone's phone number to call to ask for coverage. The best I can do is just go to work tomorrow and ask the manager about this cause this isn't right for the manager to dump this responsibility on the employee. And usually I give at least 2-3 weeks notice, but this is something that my professor only just announced, so it's not my fault.

Any other tips and advice on what I can do (besides bringing it up to the manager tomorrow)?

Pet peeves (+ PSA to customers)

Just some pet peeves I have from working here for a few years (and yes, these serve as a PSA to customers that do these things!).

- When people don’t hang things they took off the hanger

I’ve seen people fling pants or shirts over the racks. Y’all, it’s not that hard to use a hanger! You guys are full grown adults in public, act like it.

I’ve seen people who do this after they see me in the same aisle putting away clothes and they just toss the clothes over the rack. Part of my job does include cleaning up the floor and departments, but that doesn’t give you to the excuse to be rude and lazy. I’m not your personal maid!

- When people don’t wait to be called to my register

By this point I’ve learned to not even look in the direction of the line because somehow 1 second of eye contact means “come over to my register” to them. 🙄

But people still keep coming anyways! I’ve had instances where people start lining up behind the customer I’m ringing up! (This is especially true when I’m assigned to work at one of the registers closer to the line) Not only are you being impatient, you’re also being rude and inconsiderate and making my customer feel uncomfortable!

You’ve been waiting in line for 5 minutes, you can afford to wait an extra minute at least!

- When people ask stupid questions

I’m not talking about when customers ask questions. I’m fine with that and I don’t mind answering them. I mean the questions with an obvious answer.

Sometimes when I’m in the fitting room, a customer comes up to me and asks if it is the bathroom. There’s a giant sign you just passed that says “Fitting Room”. What do you think? 😐

I’ve had customers ask me how many items they can take at a time into the fitting room. On the rack where I ask them to hang their clothes, at eye level, there is a black sign that says you can take in up to 10 items at a time.

——

Bonus: interaction I’ve had with a regular customer

Customer (hands me a pair of men’s pants): Can you tell me the price of these?

Me: Yeah, sure. (Checks the price and sees that they are 59.00 (marked down from 69.99 to be the final price)

I tell her the price and even show the price tag and its original price.

Customer: Okay, but what’s the price?

Me: Ma’am, I already told you it’s 59.00. See it’s been marked down from its original price because we’ve had it in the store for some time.

Customer: Can you check the front for a price?

. . . 😐

(Mind you I helped mark down some of the stuff in men’s)

——

Obviously not all customers do these things and I know I’m preaching to the choir since other employees might have experienced these things, but I just wanted to get this off my chest.

What pet peeves do you guys have working at TJMaxx?

EDIT: I forgot to add one more pet peeve.

- When customers try to tell me how to do my job

I’m ringing up a customer and they tell me how to put the shirt they bought in a bag. I fold the shirt up neatly and they grab it from my hands and say I’m “folding it wrong”, then proceed to fold it the exact same way I just did. Then they tell me I’m wrong when I answer one of their questions regarding where stuff is in the store. Like lady, I’ve been working here for years. I know how to do my job. You’ve only been here for an hour.

Help with physical team gear

So I have this physical team with Ember (controlled operator), Endmin, Chen, and Pog. Ember is there for stagger and sustain.

I want to improve on the team since it seems lackluster compared to my other teams. Specifically, I need help with their gear. I’ve seen a few guides on physical team gear, but many of them are during the times of previous patches (before cuprium and hetonite components were introduced). Plus I don’t know which is a good combo of gear to make a good physical team. So far I’ve been applying vulnerability with Chen and occasionally Ember, and then using Endmin to consume the stacks (Pog is just there I guess?) cause they have a higher atk than Pog.

Can you guys recommend me full physical team builds with gear?

Also on a side note: what do you recommend for a solo Chen build? (For fun) 🤩

Any tips for Intro to Cog Sci?

I'm taking Cognitive Science: A Multidisciplinary Approach this summer with Eliatamby.

I know that it's a reading-intensive and more philosophical course (like MMP, which I took last summer) than CS classes, but does anyone have any tips on the quizzes and exams?

Like how long are they usually?

Does anyone have any old quizzes or exams I can use? (if that's allowed)

Self-Made Study Materials for CS210

So I've been getting a lot of requests about cs210 study materials (due to my comments on posts relating to cs210).

According to Sesh when I took cs213 with him this spring, that was supposed to be his last semester. But regardless, I still want to share my study materials for cs210 for anyone who wants to use them (unfortunately, I don't have any past exams for Sesh - not that it matters since Sesh's exams are vastly different in difficulty compared to other teachers imo).

For the study materials, I organized them by midterm concepts and provided sample files for some of them to extract data from. The practice questions I made are contained in Jupyter Notebook files (which you can open in either JupyterHub or VSCode), which you'll learn how to use in cs210 anyway. I tried to make them fun and themed at the time! 😁

Just download the google drive folder as a folder on your computer and then you can open the files in VSCode. (let me know if the link doesn't work cause I can't attach a zip folder to reddit posts apparently)

So for some reason, I've been trying to log into ilab through VSCode SSH. I know I'm putting in my password correctly, but for some reason, it keeps asking me for my password and never actually logging me in.

Funny enough, an hour previously, I was having issues updating a Github repository through ilab.

Is ilab down or something?

I don't know if this classifies as a crashout or a vent post.

For context, I'm a CS major and my mom was a CS major when she was in college, so the pressure is real.

Basically, I overloaded my freshman semesters and have been taking summer class, so now I can graduate a semester early. Currently, I'm in my second semester junior year.

The problem is that since sophomore year, I've been feeling major burnout. Every day is the same: studying constantly, scraping by with a B. I've never had the time to go to clubs, attend campus events, nothing. Even the time I have with the few friends I have is limited to whenever we see each other in class.

My weekends is basically just studying and working at my job. I can't even remember the last time I was able to enjoy a Saturday without waking up at 7 in the fricking morning to study.

It doesn't help that the CS department is really bad. Every semester I always have 2-3 CS teachers who just can't teach. Some of the CS classes I've taken are classes that I'm not even interested in, but I take them cause my mom forces me. Legit, she hovers over my shoulder whenever I make my schedules and register for next semester.

My mom has also been pressuring me to apply for CS jobs even though I constantly tell her that I'm doing that (but as you guys know, the job market is shit rn).

I was excited to graduating a semester early cause I could just relax for a semester without feeling major burnout for once in 4 years. But my mom is adamant on me going to grad school immediately after I graduate.

She said (I'm paraphrasing) that as soon as I finish my last semester this fall, I should crack open the GRE textbooks and start studying for the GRE exam, and that she expects me to take the GRE exam for grad school TWO MONTHS LATER.

Like bro????

Anyone else experiencing major pressure from parents like this?

(Let's be honest, I love my mom and she's sweet, but she keeps pressuring me on how I should plan my major and my career)

EDIT: I forgot to add some more context

- I’m paying for my tuition, not my mom

- I just want one semester of not studying after I graduate

- I still want to go for masters (always been the plan), just not so early

- My mom thinks that I have to take 3-4 CS classes each semester, and that if I’m taking only 1 or 2 CS classes, I’m not applying myself (mind you, I sacrifice any free time I have to do good in my classes)

- My mom thinks a B is a failing grade

Last semester, she suggested that for this semester (spring), I take software methodology, principles of info, principles of programming, AND operating systems.

That’s 4 CS classes, all in different languages:

- cs213: Java

- cs336: sql

- cs314: Haskell, prolog

- operating systems: C (I still have ptsd from comp arch with Patel)

I can’t manage all these classes at once. Mind you, I had already told her that I haven’t taken systems yet, which is the prerequisite for operating systems.

I can barely manage barely scraping by with a B just taking cs213, cs336, and cs314.

Anyways sorry for the long post!

So I have Yvonne with her BP weapon navigator (maxed out in terms of level and essence). Her gear is all fully artificed as well.

I managed to get TangTang’s sig on the very last issue, and I got an essence that matches the weapon. Her gear isn’t fully artificed and her weapon is only lvl 80 and her essence is not maxed, yet Tangtang has more attack than Yvonne for some reason even though she’s meant to be a sub dps in Yvonne’s team.

Is it because I don’t have Artzy Tyrannical on Yvonne?

EDIT: I forgot to mentioned that Tangtang is using the bonekrusha set which has an attack buff.

I’m just asking if this is typical for a Yvonne team.
