Ant question(camponotus castaneus)

I have tried to feed my ants a variety of items (grass hopper/dubia roach legs and a meal worm)
They havent ate anything yet. the only thing they have taken from me is honey.
I was just wondering if this is normal behavior or maybe they want to eat something else.
Colony is 1 queen and 5 nanitics

I ordered a queen ant off of state side(camponotus castaneus)
She came with brood and 3 nanitic should i feed her or keep waiting
