Close to 350,000 pandits fled their homeland. Right now the international media is in a frenzy about the 70k deaths in g@z@ but what about the exodus of Hindus? Stop having selective outrage and mimicking the west. You simply can’t steal western intellectual templates and apply them to Indian politics which a lot of Instagram uni students do. I’m so sick of this hypocrisy and double standard.

When did bringing down the majority become the right way to uplift the so called minorities?

The damage that this system causes can never be truly rectified😭. I completely understand the outrage against this systemic idiocy.
I have cleared 2 govt exams with NID ahm being my dream college. I got into NIFT as well but didn’t wanna go there since NID has more prestige.

I secured AIR 147 the first time, and NID ahm has 120 seats with half of it going to the so called oppressed minorities. Stay with me because the irony will hit you like sledgehammer later.

Instead of getting a rank 2 college, I got stuck in the rank 3 college which was just starting off in Haryana and had a poor, corrupt admin. We were literally the third batch and nothing in the college was organised the way a central govt should be. I appeared again but because of financial constraints I couldn’t repeat the year as it seemed wasteful.

Meanwhile the obc seats started at 250 something. FOR THE RANK 1 COLLEGE!!!
I was born to a single abusive mother who was lower middle class at best if I have to consider the support from my maternal grandparents which wasn’t nearly enough. Worked my ass off to get in, cleared the exam twice but couldn’t get nid ahm even with 97 rank. Still hurts me to this day because the education at NID ahm was far superior to the one I went since it has a robust faculty network for over 60 years now.

Now this is the part that gets me outraged. A guy in our batch who was amongst the richest in our cohort, who studied in an international school in Dubai used the certificate to get in. Oppressed my ahh. Another guy who was appearing with me but couldn’t clear the exam the first time around got in through this system and he had an iPhone in 2016 and a whole house to his name in Mumbai.

Are we really blind to the fact that we live in a capitalistic system above all else? How many generations will you spoon feed until GC become the oppressed?

The misogynistic language being used in the protests is sickening. If this is supposed to be serious protest, why dilute it with lewd slogans?

As an observer and a woman, I really don’t like the kind of language and the tone of most of this protest. It’s sickening. The minister needs to resign let me make my stance clear. Aside from the witty posters (which I’m not talking about), most guys are blatantly using misogynistic terms as a way to hurl insults!? We all know that slurs in Hindi are sexist to their core and virtually no swear term is devoid of misogyny, but these idiots in the protest are taking it to the next level. I’m not surprised by this just deeply disappointed.

I saw a video of men molesting a caricature of Mo-di, pretending to give him bj’s. Disgusting. One theme that was recurrent in a lot of posts and comments was the implication that “men give and women take” as their worldview for intimacy, with the latter somehow being inherently shameful. And that’s why every insult follows this communication pattern that I will FU. This is not the same as connotations with swear words in English. Hindi swearing often sounds 🍇g-rapey and intimidating. If I’m still giving them the benefit of doubt, it’s still homophobic as hell.

This was supposed to be a student protest and yet it has lost decorum. It has been co opted by literally everyone, men especially to vent out their frustration by repeatedly telling up how they can intimidate by “f-ing up the ahh of the govt” apparently. Their language one hundred percent insinuates coercion and I would not want to be anywhere near such men honestly. Unemployed incels are now going to usher in change.

Basic code of conduct imo. Asking for decorum shouldn’t be unreasonable.

Demanding basic decorum shouldn’t be unreasonable

The following things should be observed to keep things peaceful imo

No party affiliation. Neither ruling not opposition, not even upcoming ones.

No anarchist messaging
(If i am here for a specific cause why is everything under the sun being bought up)

No lewd conduct.

No misogynistic slogans.

Student leaders for student protests. (No 30 year old man parading as Gen-z.)

No inciting behaviour like pelting stones and overthrowing public infrastructure. Carrying swords etc.

Is it just me or the misogynistic language used in the protests is very triggering to others as well?

This sub is one of the few ones that actually support a neutral stance and kudos to that!

This sub has been refreshing in it’s takes and I love that! Most subs in India are repeating a blind rhetoric and anyone dissenting is being labelled as IT cell.

What’s happening with the protests is truly dystopian. The protestors went ahead and started violently protesting upturning 3 barricades and then they cry foul when the police resorted to lathi charge under BNS. There is a video of the police following the protocol and giving them verbal warnings to disperse which of course they did not listen to.

Jobless cockroaches truly. The top NEET aspirant advised students to simply study. This student movement has been co opted by the opposition and CJP for their own political motivation and most of the protestors don’t even realise how they are being used. The frustrations of the students is real but the protest has morphed into something parasitic that wants to burn down the system for no reason. There are lots of things that need reform but this rotten system has been a legacy of congress passed down to us.

They want to burn everything so much so that have become blind to the fact that after every rebellion comes an economic collapse. Is that what we need!? I don’t think so. And overthrown the current govt for a dynastic family and their nepo crown prince who have historically made a joke out of Indian democracy. Circle in Indira Gandhi and her emergency in lieu of maintains power. I would vote for Modi just to keep that family out of power. I don’t even support bjp but these protests are truly hard to watch. Critical thinking is out of the window.

There was nothing peaceful about the protest other than Sonam’s hunger strike. They could’ve stayed in Jantar mantar. They decided to march to the parliament overthrowing 3 barricades.

Tyrannical government my ass. When protestors stormed the capitol in USA they were shot on sight. China crippled their protestors through tanks. And a basic lathi charge to stop riots is seen as tyrannical. They are well within their constitutional rights btw. Check the ruling if Delhi and Punjab high court on riots. They asked the crowd to disperse but they did not.

I feel so sad for the inspector who lost his life in this mess. Most of the people there were looking for clout and boosting their own ego by thinking of them as martyrs when they’re jobless at best. Thanks for having a better crowd of redditors. Makes me happy that not everyone is brain dead.

How do I improve my makeup?

When I attempt clean girl makeup it always looks flat for some reason I can’t figure out. I want to add more dimension without having a heavy look on my face.
