How do you keep your terrariums cool during summer?

Hi everyone!
I have a crested gecko and a corn snake, and this summer has been really hot. I don’t have air conditioning, only a fan, and the temperature in my apartment is around 30°C (86°F) during the day.
I’m worried that it’s getting too warm inside their enclosures.
What do you do to keep your terrariums cooler during heat waves? Any tips or tricks that have worked well for you?
I’d really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Baby crested gecko barely eating, should I be worried?

Hi everyone,
I have a baby crested gecko that’s about 2 months old and I’ve had him for around 2–3 weeks.
I’ve been feeding a commercial crested gecko diet every other day and offering it from a spoon, but he doesn’t seem very interested in eating. He will take a few licks sometimes, but overall he doesn’t seem very enthusiastic about it.
He is producing droppings, so I know he is eating at least something. I also mist the enclosure twice a day and he seems active and healthy otherwise.
Is this normal for a gecko this young? Could he still be settling in, or am I doing something wrong?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Plant recommendations for a crested gecko terrarium? 🌿

Does anyone have a list of plants that work well in a crested gecko enclosure? I’d love to add more natural elements, but I’m not sure which plants are the best choice.
Would appreciate any recommendations or your favorite plants!

My first corn snake finally feels like home 🐍

A few months ago I got my first corn snake, and I still can’t believe how much personality these little creatures have.
At first I was worried that I wouldn’t understand him or that he wouldn’t feel comfortable with me, but slowly he started showing more curiosity and confidence.
Still learning every day, but I’m so happy I decided to get him. 🧡
Would love to see your first snakes and hear how long it took them to fully settle in!

A Clergyman’s Daughter - George Orwell

One of the best books I’ve read recently. I honestly didn’t expect to love it this much.
This book is quiet, slow, and sometimes uncomfortable, but somehow it stayed in my head long after I finished reading it. What touched me the most was the way Orwell shows a person who feels stuck between what they are expected to be and who they actually are.
I really felt the loneliness and exhaustion of the main character. It’s a very human story about losing yourself, trying to survive in a life you didn’t choose, and searching for even a small piece of freedom.
I know this book might not be for everyone because it’s not full of action or big dramatic moments, but for me that was exactly what made it special. It feels painfully real.
Orwell’s writing is simple, but there is so much emotion hidden underneath. Some parts were hard to read, but they also felt very honest.
I finished this book feeling a little sad, a little thoughtful, and very grateful that I found it. Definitely one I would recommend.

22F, diagnosed 2 weeks ago — what do you wish you knew at the beginning?

F22. Two weeks ago I was diagnosed with MS and I’m still learning how to live with it and process everything.
My first symptom was a negative scotoma/visual disturbance in my left eye. MRI showed 8 lesions, but none of them enhanced with contrast. My sensory exam and reflexes were normal (is that common with MS, or a bit unusual?). A lumbar puncture ultimately confirmed the diagnosis.
I’m currently waiting to start treatment.
One thing I’d really like advice on is exercise. I wasn’t a particularly sporty person before all this, but from what I’ve read, physical activity is strongly recommended. What kinds of sports or exercise have worked well for you? Anything you would recommend for someone just starting out?
I’d also appreciate any general lifestyle advice you wish you’d received when you were first diagnosed.
My neurologist didn’t give me many strict restrictions. The main recommendations were: no smoking, don’t overdo alcohol, try to avoid infections when possible, and be careful with excessive heat.
Thank you ❤️
