21F in Melbourne - abusive home, want to leave but don’t know if I qualify for housing help

Hi everyone,
I’m 21 and live in Melbourne. I’ve been dealing with abuse from my family for pretty much my entire life. It has included physical, verbal/emotional and financial abuse.

When I was stuck at home during COVID, the situation got so bad that I attempted suicide. I’m not currently suicidal and don’t have any plans to harm myself, but being in this environment again is seriously affecting my mental health and I’m worried about where things will end up if I stay here long term.

The abuse is still ongoing. It’s mostly verbal and emotional now, but there are still physical incidents. I also have photos and evidence of past incidents.
My family also refuses to give me some of my important documents, including my passport and birth certificate.
I work full-time as a receptionist in the city and earn roughly $1,800-$2,000 per fortnight before tax. I have around $15,000 in savings. My current contract is due to end at the end of this year, although there have been hints that it may be renewed.

I don’t drive and was planning to buy a car this year, but now I’m wondering if I should use that money towards moving out instead.
The problem is that I don’t want to move into a share house.
After everything that’s happened, I really want my own space and some stability. I work near the CBD and would prefer to stay around the inner city or somewhere with good public transport access.

I’m also considering studying again next year, which makes the whole situation feel even more overwhelming because I don’t know if I can realistically afford to study and live independently.

I’m trying to figure out:
Would housing services actually take my situation seriously?

Would I qualify for any housing assistance even though I’m employed and have savings?

Has anyone successfully left an abusive family home and been helped by housing services in Melbourne?

What would you do if you were in my position?

I know nobody can make the decision for me, but I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have been through something similar or work in housing/community services.
Thank you.
