Water pump weep hole was pouring water immediately after a coolant flush. Almost ran out of water the next day, and now hasn’t leaked a drop for 2 weeks.
I used universal antifreeze and distilled water.
Is it normal for them to leak intermittently? Is it possible I overfilled the system and it leaked out that way?

I am 100% certain it was the weep hole and not the pipe or hose above it. Got under the car while it was running and cleaned the area well with break cleaner.

No clue if it has ever been changed. Car has 312k miles.

2013 Tucson question

I have been given a 2013 Hyundai Tucson GLS 2.4L with a blown engine for free.
I think It would be worth it for me to replace the engine and use it as a backup vehicle / more comfortable vehicle (current car is a 92 cb7 with no A/C and it’s hot in Alabama) but I’m wondering about improving the reliability of the replacement engine.
Are there any kits you can buy that upgrade the pistons , rods, and rod bearings to avoid the failure?
Any kits for oil catch cans ?
I’ll be doing all of the work myself and it wouldn’t be my first time.
I have done a few hours of googling and haven’t found anything aside from a 3000k kit and some 300$ kits. Wouldn’t know how good either are as it’s obvious the reviews are bots.
