I've been working on painting 21 minis at once so I haven't had a finished new guy for the sub to see in a while. But I stayed up late to finish this Chosen night lord with a combi bolter. He is bald and pale, as all my little buddies are, but clearly he is favored by the gods hence his possessed power pack.

On the subject of deep strike and reserves for CSM

I'm getting back into 40k tabletop in a big way and I could use some advice. I'm running a CSM nightmare hunt list and I'm leaning into raptors and warptalons along with the usual chaos lords and haarken world claimer. I also have a terminator squad that in my first game I didn't get much action with because I was thinking about weapon loadouts the wrong way for just about every unit I had on my list.

I've got 10 warptalons built, 10 raptors built with another murderwing kit on the way and two jump pack chaos lords and Haarken. I plan on using warp talons in murder ball that deep strikes in round 2 with a chaos lord, deletes a unit and then warp zaps for another deployment next round to keep my opponent off balance and hopefully keep them afraid to fully commit their forces to my mid board and tanks which will be getting me objectives and what not.

Is this the wrong way to use warptalons? Am I wasting valuable killing potential by taking them off the board for a turn and then deep striking again? Furthermore, for Raptors should I have them in five man or ten man squads to make the most of the aura ability and debuff enemy units? Am I supposed to use them to try to trigger battleshock and prevent enemy units from having scoring potential rather than outright killing light infantry?

Is it worth it to deep strike terminators in the middle of the board? Or do you think packing them and T-lord into a landraider and using it to suck up attention and fire on the middle is a good choice?

Thank you for any advice you give me, I spent 18 hours doing brass trim on twenty infantry and Haarken this weekend so these fuckers better start rolling 6's.

As you can see my buddy and I just did a bit of airbrushing and I'm ready to start on the "painting tanks" phase of army building. I recently got weliday case with metal trays that I love for moving my minis safely. But while regular troops are easy to figure out where and how to place magnets I can't find any examples online about where people place magnets for tanks like in the pics.

Can any of you cool dudes advise me? Maybe give me a pic of how you did it? And yeah I know I made the forgefiend without triple ectoplasma cannons but I have a very good reason for that (the autocannon arms look sick)

I'm getting better and learning different techniques for painting. Which feels pretty satisfying. Still can't do weapon glow right though.

not my best work but passable. I just wanted to pull the ripcord on this model, not as fun to paint as the jump pack lords. Combi-weapon is kind of dorky and has weird angles to paint. But doing the wings on the dark angel helmet trophy actually gave me a eureka moment for technique that I'm going to apply to other models.

these old kits kind of suck to paint. This one was way more tedious than the jump pack chaos lord I did previously. I think it's just the wonky angles on the combiweapon
