Preventing Infections in Thailand.

Hi,

I’m off to thailand to train for two weeks at Carlson Gracie MMA and Bangtao MMA.

Has anyone got any suggestions on best way to avoid getting staph or ringworm whilst there? I always ensure I shower with soap and scrub with a silicone scrubber right after every session but i’m wanting to see if there are any others things people use?

I’ve seen those sprays you put on before training but no idea if they are just a gimmick or not.

Any tips would help, last thing I want is to get there and get an infection in the first few days.

cheers

Best Muay Thai gyms in Bangtao area?

Hey guys,

planning my trip to Phuket in November to do 2 weeks of training.

My original plan was to train at carlson gracie with Owen Lisley for the first week for grappling mainly, then the second week go to Bangtao for mma, muay thai and grappling. Ive been there for a day before and it was decent but looking at what others have said there is like 80+ people per class.

Can anyone suggest other gyms which might be more beneficial to go to for someone of 4-5 years experience trying to improve? Or would you suggest bangtao MMA?

thanks

FRNSW Assessment Centre Dates

Hi guys, passed my PAT and have been sent an email to book in for my assessment centre date.

I am travelling from interstate and they have only given me 1 option for next week and it lands on the 1 day I need to be here for work.

I saw that assessment centre dates are running into the following week (18th of June) where I am free every day to go up and do the assessment centre, is it worth emailing them to ask if that’s a possibility to do it that week?

thanks

Need help designing a lattice structure

Hi guys, doing a project where I need to design a lattice form like this image. I’m pretty basic with my CAD abilities so wanting to know what’s the best method to design something like this? It also needs to have a curve to the whole design as it will be going into a boxing glove. if anyone knows the would be great!

thanks a lot.

I’ve always thought of industrial design as creating meaningful, functional products that genuinely improve the user experience. But I also see a lot of work that feels more conceptual or “artsy”, with a focus on form and aesthetics, sometimes without obvious real world practicality.

As a student i’m always thinking in my projects how I can improve on something, or create a new concept for a product that is genuinly going to benefit the user. Whilst I also see other students often making products which seem a little pointless in some aspects and looks like more art pieces for an exhibition or something.

Is this just different areas of industrial design, or am I misunderstanding the field? How do you personally define or separate these approaches?

Interested to know. thanks
