only time will tell when he actually comes out so don’t hold me accountable for your pull plans, this was mainly just for me to talk about how cute it would be if Sampo is released on a day called the festival of fools 💜 honestly I don’t even expect this to be real and will inevitably pull for new characters until I hear something new in the leak sub

I was looking at old leaks for Sampo crumbs and I wanted to ramble about some connections I made:

Sampo was rumored to make an “appearance” at the end of 4.7 in these leaks, which has been consistently true so far with only minor adjustments, which we can attribute to the political rewrite. 

• For clarity, this leak came out about a year ago and was accurate about Cyrene’s ult despite an 8ish-month time difference, so I’m confident it’s pretty accurate with the exception of some aspects being changed for the political issue from right before 4.0s release.

  

I really think he will have an appearance in the main story in 4.7 due to the timing of this patch. And upon looking into it, I was pleasantly surprised to find cultural events that line up with this date, most notably: the Festum Fatuorum or Festival of Fools
This is all assuming that the use of the word “appearance” here is not just him showing up at the end to say hi to us then disappear again T__T

However, I wanted to try to calculate the day he could release based on the leak. Assuming the typical schedule of updates every 6 weeks, that puts him, if he releases in 4.7, around Nov 17/18 - Dec 29/30

Of course, anyone could guess which Tuesday an update releases, so I wanted to dig more into this after seeing that other characters in Hoyo’s past games have been set to release on days significant to their character (i.e., Scaramouche on the day Bohemian Rhapsody came out, >!Capitano rumored to return on the next total eclipse, this !<) 

At this point I found out about the Festum Fatuorum, or the festival of fools. Already sounds a fitting celebration for the end of the elation-focused story and debut of its emanator. Looking more into it, the holiday surrounds crowning someone as false king for a day to mock society then return to normal the next day.

Sampo has been referred to as the Trash King several times since the game’s release. Him releasing at a time when someone is selected to be a king of nothing (essentially garbage) is pretty fitting. 

Another tidbit includes how the festival was widely celebrated in France, and he derives one of his aliases from the French version of April Fools ' Day. 
Taken from his wiki:

• His pseudonym Brughel Poisson may be derived from Brueghel, the surname of an extended family of Dutch and Flemish painters, and "poisson," the French word for "fish." In France, April Fools' Day is called "poisson d'avril," where many pranks involve fish.

The festival takes place on Jan 1st, which would line up with the end of the second half 4.7 banner, and I’d be happy with that connection since he seems like the type of guy to go out with a bang. As much as Hoyo secretly loves him, I wouldn’t be surprised if Void Archives goes first anyway
If 4.7 is NOT when he runs but rather just their reveal of him as the emnator of elation, then that would also mean he could be a 4.8 first half banner starting on the day of the festival, and I’d also be happy with that because that's also fitting and he’d instead start his banner on the festival of fools

There’s also a new moon on dec 8/9 which is interesting since despite being in Astropolis next patch, he does have ties to Planararcadia, plus several meteor showers during the second half banner window

There was also a leak about one of the patches after 4.4 to be shortened by 1 week, but I can’t find it right now. However, if it ends up being the truth if he’s a second half banner it would end on the winter solstice and that feels fitting for a Finnish/Russian themed character who goes by Cold Feet.

tldr: leakers who were right about stuff like Cyrene ult 8 months in advance predicted Sampo would show up in 4.7, 4.7s second half banner end and 4.8s start line up with the festival of fools and that’s pretty Sampo coded

I noticed a lot of references to gold, the world tree from the Kalevala, and other suspicious instances in the latest trailer and wanted to catalogue them. No idea what any of this means, but if Sampo really was a kid when Enroute was around, then maybe Enroute had something to do with the kingdom we see in the background of the new trailer and Sampo's allusions to royalty or the world tree?

the idea of Sampos SP having loud or otherwise special footsteps because he’s not hiding from his past anymore and has made peace with elation after whatever made him give up his mask is eating my brain like a worm, also it’d be funny to hear him honk every time he walks

there’s no way he’s not connected to the express blowing up since he won’t board it as a visitor. combine that with him describing himself as a traveling merchant, he totally spent some time there, but now im just thinking about the friends and memories he made and if he was finally happy and now he feels like he can’t go back 💔

TLDR: if you look at the items used to make the penacony dream it lines up with other lore about him so it was one of Sampos actual dreams and he really did kill his dad then run from the throne in shame and has been running around hiding his identity since
