D1/D2 hitting crim for the first time on BO7 felt good but the variance in the standard of lobby is absolutely insane now. In previous seasons when I'm paired with plats/diamonds you'd always get a few burgers, sometimes it was me, but I swear we now have silver/G1s hitting plat and diamond who literally cannot win a 1v1. I've never seen so many people with 0.3-0.5 ED games, I'm not just talking having a bad game as a one off but just getting absolutely destroyed.
I'm playing console only so probably increases the variance in ranks within a lobby but ranked seems less enjoyable now because there are so many more games where one team just shits on the other.
Anyone else experiencing a lack of close games?
I literally cannot win a game with French players. They have the worst fundamentals I have ever seen. Which nationalities do you struggle with?
I love the concept of the new system which should in theory stop people from being so hardstuck at the mercy of Activision deciding what your hidden MMR is (+18 for a win, -39 for a loss, for example), however all they've done is effectively get people hardstuck with another method, by giving them lower ranked teammates and opponents.
The game must think I'm a bot because despite getting well into D1 every season I seem to get more gold and plat teammates/opponents than ever which means not only do I have to sweat my balls off to try and carry these kids with no thumbs but if I do I'm basically capped at 20SR for a win anyway.
Surely the whole point of this system is to give me similar ranked teammates and then if I can't hack it in those lobbies and keep losing, I go down? The fact I'm comfortably into D1 and got there by getting plenty of +70/+80s in plat should mean that I'm not a plat level player?
Anyone else experiencing this?
What do we make of this? Some good changes imo but discourages fundamentals like holding spawns/watching the flank as your score will be lower.
