Keep the messages?

So my ex basically called me superficial and told me he never liked me! He also said he wasn’t excited to see me and justified comparing me to other women (in his mind they ARE better). He called me a month before we were supposed to go in vacation together to tell me he “feels nothing for me” when 48 hours earlier he had spent the night and seemed fine.

My issue is do I keep all these messages to remind myself to NEVER GO BACK or do I delete them? Despite everything I still want him to text or call for some reason.

Please tell me the pain stops at some point

I knew it was coming. It’s been 4 days but I can’t imagine crying everyday for the rest of the year. Please tell me it gets better.

Why do most white collar jobs cap at 75-85k?

I’m looking for IT or analyst type jobs and most seem to push back when I ask for $85k as the base pay. I have 4 years of IT experience and 2 in finance. I don’t think 80-85 is a wild request but more and more I’m seeing roles barely paying $70k a year. Is this just the new normal?

My sister won’t leave her abuser

Hi everyone,

I’m wondering if you have an resources on maintaining low or minimal contact with family members who are enmeshed with their abusers.

My sister has been on again off again with an alcoholic who has a history of breaking into other people’s homes and stealing from them. Due to his nature and my sister’s enmeshment with him I am afraid she will give him my address and so I am no contact with him and low contact with her.

My sister was recently diagnosed with a terminal illness and due to his presence and my inability to keep the peace (my other siblings enable their relationship) I refuse to be in the same room as him. Because of this I’m now labeled “unforgiving” and “difficult”. I offered phone calls as an alternative and she has stopped replying.

Multiple times I have offered her a place to stay and she ignored it only to come back and ask again when the space was unavailable. She likes to point out that “I never offered her a place to go” whenever I ask if she’s ever going to leave him.

TLDR: I’m out of ideas on how to protect myself from my terminally ill sister’s abusive partner and support her at the same time. What books or posts on reddit should I read? Are there any resources on how to handle terminally ill family members in abusive relationships?

I think I need to quit

I just saw my bully’s “ documentation” on me when they accidentally screen shared. The contents of their documents were about an interaction we had previously: I called them out as being rude and confrontational to their face in a meeting the other day. They were being rude! And they gaslit me afterwards saying “Was I addressing you directly? No? Did I criticize anyone else?” It was implied in their statement and attitude.

I think it’s time for me to just leave. I don’t think staying is going to end well for me.
