I Finally Unlocked the C63 S

I’ve been contemplating getting my C63s tuned since I got it and I decided to go through with a little ECU tune for my daily enjoyment.

These cars are really muted from factory. The difference an ECU tune makes on the C63s feels like night and day. It feels like the car went from a ‘comfort first’ set up to a ‘performance first’ set up and I wish they came like that from factory. Currently making 570-580hp

I plan on getting a stage 2 tune with catted or catless downpipes at some point but I will need you guys’ help with my decision. If you’ve had either a catless or catted downpipes on your C63 or any V8 AMG what’s your experience been like with the smell?

I have included a link to my Stage 1 (ecu) tune experience in the comments section for those interested.

I finally bought my dream car!

Finally made the jump from a 2018 C43 AMG Coupe to a 2018 C63 S Coupe, and I still can’t believe it’s sitting in my driveway. I never anticipated purchasing this modern classic so soon!

After months of entertaining every mishap out there I could tell that it was time to let my C43 go. Getting rear ended by a dump truck was the final nail in the coffin for my C43 so I seized the opportunity and jumped right into a pre-opf C63s. I picked it up with 49k miles after getting a pre purchase inspection done.

I just couldn’t justify choosing anything else over this beauty. A compact RWD V8 with an attitude and thunderous sound? Sold lol. It’s such a different experience from other V8s out there. I’d love to get it tuned at some point as well but for now I’ll enjoy everything this stock beast has to offer. I’d appreciate tips and suggestions from other C63 owners out there (W205). What are some things to avoid and look out for through the course of my ownership?

I will also be documenting my journey with the car through the course of my ownership, and have included a link in the comment for those interested in being a part of it!

After driving both, I finally understand why people still prefer the F82

As an AMG guy who’s admired M cars from a distance I’ve had the privilege of driving a couple of them and I can confidently say that the F82 does offer a better drive experience when compared to the g82.

The g82 is an amazing car and the S58 provides such an exhilarating experience, but I found myself enjoying the sound of the s58 more than the actual drive experience. The car is fast and handles corners extremely well but that same ‘clean’ style driving is what kills the fun imo. It gets boring after a while because the car just does what you want it to. It reminds me a lot of sim racing. The bucket seats create a go kart/ roller coaster like feel for both the driver and passenger, and xdrive makes the car feel like it’s on rails when you really push it. Both the F82 and G82 have a toy like feel to them but the f82 does it a little better.

I’ve always heard people say that M cars are meant to be about driver engagement and raw drive feel. Imperfection is what bonds drivers to the F82 from what I remember. It makes you feel like the main character because you control every single thing the car does. I guess older M cars is truly where it’s at.

I was able to capture some of my drive experience with the g82 in a POV style video.I’ve attached a link to the comments for those who are interested.
