[W212] Missing trunk lid interior panel - looking for part number

Hey everyone,
I have a 2012 Mercedes
-Benz E200 CDI (W212, pre-facelift, Avantgarde) and I'm trying to figure out what's supposed to cover the inside of the trunk lid. (See pics)

Right now I can see the bare metal, all the wiring clips, and the trunk release mechanism — but there's no interior trim panel covering any of it.

Is 2015 Mercedes glk with 85 miles bad?

Hi guys, I wanted an opinion, is a Mercedes like this for 13 k expensive? Is it a robbery? I liked the car I don’t want to spend too much on installments and it fit for me, I’m a woman I don’t drive to much and it’s my first loan, I would you like more opinions from those who already have to know if I’m getting into a hole hahaha

Need help replacing halogen headlight bulb on my 2016 Mercedes-Benz

I already have the bulb, but apparently Mercedes engineers decided a simple headlight replacement should require the hand size of a 10-year-old and the patience of a surgeon. I already sliced my hand trying to get the bulb seated correctly.

If you’ve worked on Mercedes headlights before, you already know this is not your normal “twist and done” bulb swap 😂

Looking for someone in the Salt Lake Valley who could help install it for some cash. Should be quick for someone who knows what they’re doing.

2012 Mercedes E350 4 Door sedan will throw itself into park at crawl speeds.

My Mercedes E350 4MATIC has a weird intermittent issue where when I slow down to a crawl or almost stop, the transmission completely freaks out and rapidly cycles through D/N/R/P before violently slamming itself into Park. Every time it happens I have to manually put it back into Drive to move again. No warning lights, no flickering electronics, no radio resets, and the rest of the car works perfectly normal including brake lights. The car was previously sent to a mechanic for this exact issue and they found the auxiliary battery was low/dead and replaced it, which actually fixed the problem for a while, but now it’s starting to happen again. Main battery also tested fine during inspection in March. Trying to figure out if this sounds more like a conductor plate, speed sensor or shifter module issue or if the transmission itself is starting to go.

Any help would be appreciated as I am a broke college kid who doesn’t have the money to spend looking through codes and things just to maybe find the problem.

Edit: The engine is a 3.5l V6

I did it 🚗 SL500

1999 SL500! Car is older then me lol but it’s beautiful interior and exterior. Owned it for about 2 weeks now and the drive feels so smooth. Some things I need to work on but will come with time. Anyone else here with SL 500 and if so what upgrades did you do?

Going to change the exhaust want it to sound more aggressive and maybe get monoblocks but other then that I love this car as is. Also might change the radio but not sure love the look of the original but Bluetooth through charge port has static in certain areas

Coke Zero fits perfectly 😂 one in the chamber

2010 SLK350 Clacking sound while during idle

I just recently noticed my 2010 SLK350 171k miles is making a clacking noise while idling, almost like two dominos clicking together. If anyone could help identify what this could be that would be helpful. Sound is very central in the engine bay and easier to from the cabin, clicks along at a steady tempo. seems to get harder to hear at higher rpm’s.

What should I know?

Hi,

I'm no car expert so I've decided to ask for some help.

I'm going to look at a 2017 Mercedes CLA 180. 1.6 litre turbo charged engine. AMG package as well.
This is from a garage, the car has 107,000 miles.

The car is at a pretty good price. I'm just wondering from the technical side what to look out for and what could go wrong or break within a short time?

What should I check? How do I check it?

I know the basics, oil, engine knocking, exterior, interior, etc.

Thanks

Mercedes C class W205 C300d fuel consumption

Hi everyone,

Recently bought Mercedes and I'm surprised of fuel consumption.

Specs of my Mercedes-benz C class, S205, C300d, 4matic, 2019, facelift, wagon, OM654, 9 speed automatic, 180kW, R19 wheels. I'll add something if I forgot.

What fuel consumption do you achieve when driving in the city, on the highway and mixed driving?

My first stats in city 11-14l/100km, 7-8,5l/100km on highway

Advice please

I have a 2018 CPO E400 coupe that I bought back in 2021 with 30k mileage. Since having the vehicle it’s been a good experience just a few issues I’ve run into. I’ve always done service A & B every 10k miles.

Around 55k mileage my check engine light came on, it was a switch in the fuel pump that went bad so luckily the fuel pump was replaced by the dealer right before my cpo warranty expired.

Had to replace all tire sensors at one point. And my steering wheel stopped going all the way up.

At 80k mileage my ac compressor went out so got that replaced.

Now i just passed the 100k mileage and started getting a sensor for gas cap loose, I checked it and everything was good and it came off, but now the check engine light came on. I took it to auto zone and the code p0442 which is a leak in the evap system.

Took it to the mechanic and they did a smoke test and said the charcoal canister and purge valve need to be replaced and it would cost $880 to replace, but what worries me is they said when they were checking that out they said there was underboost and that the turbo needs to be replaced which is $3200. I understand that with any car, issues like this can happen but honestly I always thought these engines were solid if maintained and now I’m honestly not sure if it’s worth paying for it and expecting other issues to arise down the line. Can’t decide if I should just sell it as is or fix it and keep it. Any help is appreciated!

2022 Mercedes C300 Engine Failure 57,000 miles – Dealer, Warranty Company, and Mercedes All Denied Help After 4 Months - original owner

Extremely frustrating issue. I honestly don’t know what else to do at this point and I’m hoping someone here has advice or has gone through something similar.

This is my third Mercedes and 6th within my household.

I own a 2022 Mercedes C300 and for the last 4 months I’ve been dealing with what has turned into an absolute nightmare involving major engine/mechanical issues.

The car has been at/involved with Euro motorcars Mercedes-Benz dealer, RoadVantage extended warranty and Mercedes-Benz corporate and somehow ALL of them are denying responsibility or assistance. They all make different claims but place nothing in writing even when asked.

I’ve spent months making nonstop calls and emails going back and forth between the dealer and warranty company, trying to get answers and approvals, paying insurance/payments while barely having use of the vehicle and being left stressed out.

Now I’m being told the engine replacement could cost around $17,800, and everyone keeps pointing fingers at each other.

What makes this even worse is the car is not old I maintained it. I purchased extra coverage specifically to avoid situations like this and nobody seems willing to stand behind the vehicle.

At this point I feel completely abandoned by the dealership, the extended warranty company and Mercedes-Benz itself

I expected better support from a luxury brand, especially with a newer vehicle.

Has anyone here dealt with

Mercedes engine failure?
• RoadVantage denial issues?
• Dealer refusing responsibility?
• Corporate escalation with Mercedes-Benz?
• Consumer protection attorneys for auto disputes?

Did anyone actually get help or reimbursement?

I’m honestly exhausted and don’t know whether I should:
• Replace the engine
• Trade the car in at a huge loss
• Hire an attorney
• File complaints with consumer agencies
• Try to escalate publicly/social media

Any advice would really help at this point.

is it salvagable?

Hey guys! First Time poster in this subreddit! long story short. a family friend had to move and couldn't take the car with them. 2011 e350 bluetecwith around 250k miles. when we did the title transfer the car ran, it started a little rough and ran normal after some rpms and they said it need some an oil change soon and maybe a bit of oil, I said "okay cool no worries ill get it taken care of! The tires also had low PSI and I my dumbass just went to get air in them BEFORE checking/taking care of the oil. I showed my uncle since he lived down the road and he test drove it after giving it some gas. no crazy grinding sounds, but according to him the engine made a "fart shuddering noise" and the engine turned off and christmas lights galore. he checked and bitch had absolutely not a drop of oil. now there is absolutely no crank when key turns. a very very high pitch whir and I think fuel pump tries to work. is the engine blown? can it be saved? should I sell it for parts or scrap it? I didn't lose anything but like 150 for the title transfer but would like to attempt to fix it if possible! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Compact Luxury SUV - BMW X3 vs GLC 300 vs Q5 vs GV70

Planning to replace my current Hyundai in the next year or so and move into the luxury compact SUV segment.

Current shortlist:

  1. BMW X3
  2. Mercedes GLC 300
  3. Audi Q5
  4. Genesis GV70

(Not considering Acura or Lexus.)

I want something that gives both:
- the feeling of owning a premium/luxury brand, and
- good performance + tech.

Current thoughts:
- Heart says Mercedes GLC purely for the brand/luxury feel.
- Brain says Genesis GV70 because it seems like the best value.
- X3 seems to be the best driver’s car overall.
- No strong opinion on the Q5 yet.

Assume all of these would cost roughly the same in the end.

Would love opinions from people who:
- own/have owned these,
- recently cross-shopped them,
- or work in the industry.

What would you pick and why? Any regrets or surprises after ownership?

E350 w212 2009-2014

Hi, I need some honest, harsh and detailed reviews on e350 from 2009 all the way to 2014, which one would be the best to buy. and i mean like how troubling is it to play music via only Bluetooth or does the front console make noise when you touch it like when air is trapped or something like that. I just need very honest reviews, from people who've been driving these cars for a long time and have experience on the long run. Thank you.
