ITDR options

Hello,

I I'm a small MSP currently managing fewer than 50 endpoints, and I'm curious what ITDR tools or services other MSPs are using.

I recently had a meeting with Huntress, but the salesperson wasn't interested in giving me a demo because of our size. I found that a bit surprising.
We already have MDR through SonicWall, so ideally I'd like to find a solution that can complement or integrate with our existing MDR service.

If anyone has experience running both MDR and ITDR together, I'd love to hear what you're using and how it's working out.

Clients with field employees

Hello,

Looking for feedback from MSPs supporting mobile-first workforces.

I recently onboarded a healthcare client with 15 office employees and 60 field employees. The office staff are on Microsoft 365 Business Premium, while the field staff will be on F3 licenses and will primarily use Teams and other M365 apps from their phones.

For office users, we deploy our full stack of security and management tools. For field users, who won't have company laptops, I'm trying to figure out both the security approach and how to price them from an MSP perspective. Our current contract is for just the office employees, but we're looking into onboarding the field users as well.

Are you charging the same per-user rate for mobile-only users, or do you offer a separate field-worker tier? If so, what's included? Are you managing BYOD devices with Intune/App Protection Policies and Conditional Access, or taking a lighter-touch approach?

The previous provider left things in pretty rough shape from a security standpoint, and the biggest gap I see today is the lack of control over company data being accessed from field employees' devices.

Curious how others are handling both the security controls and the pricing model for users who are essentially mobile-only. Thanks!

Recommendation for secure communication platform for home health care field staff?

I recently took on a new client in the health care industry. They have around 15 office employees and approximately 60 field CNAs/nurses who spend most of their time traveling to patients' homes.

Right now, a lot of their communication happens through WhatsApp and other unmonitored consumer apps, which obviously raises concerns around security and compliance.

The client is looking for a better way to communicate quickly with their field staff. These users don't really need email, SharePoint, or the full Microsoft 365 experience. Their primary need is instant messaging, group communication, announcements, and basic collaboration while they're on the go.

My initial thought was to license the field employees with Teams-only licenses, but I'm curious what others in similar health care environments are using. Has anyone implemented a communication platform for a workforce like this? If so, what worked well, and were there any compliance or management considerations I should be aware of? Also, how would you price something like this?

Thanks in advance for any recommendations or experiences you can share.

Recommendation for attorney to go over an MSA for my IT company

Hello,

I'm running an IT company (MSP) and I'd like to review our current MSA drafted by a previous attorney. Essentially, go over what we have and provide recommendations. Thanks!

Cove or DropSuite for MS365 backups?

Hello,

I’ve been a DropSuite customer for over a year and their product is solid for the most part. However, I’m exploring other options with probably better features and usability. I came across Cove and it seems solid. I was wondering if you’ve used them for just MS365 backups and if the move from DropSuite makes sense. Thanks!

Best features/tools to use with CIPP

I've just started using CIPP and it's been great so far. I'm self-hosting it for now, but the templates and the ability to see almost everything from a single portal are fantastic. I'd love to hear what some of you are doing for alerting, policies, any tricks, etc. Thanks!

Any experiences with Level RMM?

Hello,

I've been trialing Level[.]io RMM for the past few days, and overall I think it's a great product. I was wondering if any of you have used it and, if so, wouldn't mind sharing your experience with it.

One thing I'm a little confused about is their pricing. They advertise 10 free agents, but from what I understand, once you add the 11th agent, they start charging for all agents, not just the additional one. Am I understanding that correctly?

Tool/Software for sending invoices and collecting payments (No PSA yet)

Hello,

What are you all using to send invoices and collect payments from clients? I've been using Bill[.]com, but I'm interested in looking at other options.

We don't have a PSA yet, so I'm specifically interested in tools that work well on their own. I'd love to hear what's working for you. Thanks!

My (32M) Partner (27F) Constantly Compares Our Relationship to Couples on Social Media. How Can We Address This?

I’ve been married for about four years, and my partner keeps comparing our relationship to other people’s relationships on social media to the point where it’s starting to bother me.Our relationship is pretty “normal.” We take one or two vacations a year, hang out together every weekend, own a house, and genuinely enjoy spending time as a couple.

We go out to eat, go dancing, and do plenty of things that interest her. However, she constantly brings up other couples she sees on social media and how they seem to be as partners. To me, everything looks perfect on social media, and we never get to see the ugly side of those relationships.

What makes it even more frustrating is that she often wants us to do exactly what those couples are doing. The problem is that not everything we see online is realistic for our situation. Some of those things aren’t possible right now because of our finances, our schedules, or other factors we have to deal with.

Life looks different for everyone, and I don’t think it’s fair to compare our relationship to someone else’s highlight reel.I’ve tried explaining to her that not all relationships are the same. Every couple does things differently, and that’s completely normal. I’ve gone out of my way to make her happy and have done things I didn’t necessarily want to do, but I can’t mimic someone else’s lifestyle or relationship dynamic.

We have a three-year-old child, full-time jobs, side gigs, and a lot to be grateful for, but sometimes it feels like it’s still not enough. I’d like to hear some opinions on this and have a discussion.

Thanks!

SonicSentry - Have you used it?

Hello,

I came across this "MXDR" solution from SonicWall a few weeks ago and I wanted to ask this group for feedback. I haven't seen a demo or anything yet, but I'm curious. Yay or Nay?

Any thoughts on Guardz?

Hello,

I’ve been trialing Guardz for a few days, and I was wondering if some of you have used them before. To me, their platform is slow and I don’t like the lack of visibility we get from SentinelOne. Ok, it’s a managed instance, but let me see at least. Their pricing is like $10 per user. Let me know if you’ve used them before and your thoughts.

Email security solutions

Hello,

I’m shopping around for email security solutions to provide to my clients. I manage about 50 devices (small, but growing), and I was wondering what some of you are running and which platforms to avoid. We’re not offering any of that currently, but I’d like to bundle it instead of offering it as an add-on/optional service. Happy to answer any questions. Thanks!

Small MSP Stack Review – What Would You Change?

Hello,

We're a small MSP and have been focused on keeping our tooling costs low while still covering the essentials.

Current stack:

  • Cloud backups: DropSuite
  • Tickets: Jira Free
  • RMM: Action1
  • Endpoint backups: OneDrive
  • EDR/AV: Microsoft Defender for Business (via M365 Business Premium). I would love to add Huntress or S1 to our stack at some point.
  • Endpoint management: Intune
  • Phishing simulations/security awareness: uSecure

Overall, we're pretty happy with it, especially considering the cost.

What would you change, add, or replace? Any obvious gaps or potential pain points as we grow?

Always interested in seeing what other small MSPs are running and where you think we could improve. Thanks!
