i’ve always had iphones, but i’ve never been necessarily loyal to them. I’m comfortable with the way they work and navigating the os is pretty simple but lately i feel like i would be benefiting more from an android.

for anybody who used to be a long time (or even short time) iphone user who then switched to and stuck with android, how was that for you? what were the pros and cons? are there things you miss about iphones?

i’m trying to decide what phone to get next but i’m scared to make the wrong choice. any and all opinions, experiences and recommendations are welcome!

(i’d also like to know what phones you switched to and from!)

hi, sorry if this is formatted wrong or sounds stupid (I’ve only ever lurked on reddit before). i’m trying to figure out what phone would work best for me next. i currently have an iphone 14 plus. i’ve never had anything outside of an iphone (other than the few flip phones i went through as a kid) but i’m not necessarily loyal to apple.

i’ve been kinda interested in the nothing phones, but i hear the camera quality isnt very good? i dont have an issue switching to android, but anything to do with specs and hardware doesn’t make a ton of sense to me >.>

i don’t really need my phone for anything crazy. id like for it to run well, and have a good amount of storage (i currently have 128g and that’s been fine). i’m not a photographer but i do like to take nice looking pictures if i can. id like an interface/os that is easy to work with while also being customizable, and a good enough battery considering i have a pretty high screentime and like to doomscroll.

im most familiar with iphones, but i’m not interested in them too much given the way they source their materials and the whole thing about intentionally degrading the quality after a few years. also, it’s a little stupid of a detail but if i can manage to find a phone that fits all these things and it’s one of those foldable smart phones (the vertical kind, not horizontal folding where it becomes a huge screen) that would be really cool. i find the gimmick charming!

if i sound stupid in my request, it’s because i am when it comes to technology, so i appreciate your patience. im looking for suggestions, advice or even personal experiences and recommendations based on that!

edit: i didn’t think to mention this but maybe it’s important; i use mint mobile and im in the U.S so i’d need something thats also compatible with that

+ also, sorry, i’d like a decently big phone! i have pretty big hands. the 14 plus i have right now is almost the perfect size! it could be a little wider, if anything
