io interactive have created such a good version of Bond that it makes you wonder how Denis Villeneuve and crew will make a version just as good if not better

Need advice for careers

In January I was let go from my job. To be brief as to why I was let go from their perspective: I hadn’t improved since I started working, my performance wasn’t better when asked to help other departments, I couldn’t move to other departments because they were all full, etc. I found this to be B.S. as I felt like I personally improved at completing my tasks. Was I perfect? No, but there was no way I hadn’t improved since I first got there. I at the very least got more comfortable and confident in my abilities to complete the task. But regardless of how my opinion on my work and their opinion on work, I ultimately wasn’t happy with the job. So them letting me go filled me with dread and relief.

It is now June and I have nothing going for myself. I'm fortunate to be in a position where I live with my parents and I don't have big responsibilities like paying off a car or whatever. However I'm tired of being coddled and I want a career that I'll at least be content with. Peers and my parents suggest I go to college since they believe the warehouse industry isn't for me. But nothing in college interests me, I fear I'm too stupid, etc. I even tried to monetize my hobbies, but that didn't work either. The way I approach creative projects just wouldn't work. I don’t like meeting deadlines, I can’t consistently create, and I have multiple hobbies I switch around whenever I’m in the mood for change.

So I'm asking for advice on here because I want convos with people and I want to avoid talking to an A.I. Thanks

I am Gen Z, and Im lonely too

I’m writing this to get it off my chest and to avoid impulsively talking to an A.I . Im a 22 year old male and have been lonely for a year now. I left the only two friends I had in 2025, and while I’m extremely glad I did, I haven’t found new ones since. To give a little context, senior year of high school was a really tough time. I just felt so ostracized from everyone around me. I used to have a lot of friends in freshman year but the friend count was on the decline year after year. So when senior year came around and I hadn’t made any new friends and was ostracised from my then current friend group, I just couldn’t take it anymore. My social anxiety was at a peak and it was probably the most suicidal I’d ever felt in my life. So at the tail end of senior year I dropped out of high school. All the emotions I felt was too much for me to handle and I had missed so much school by then that I couldn’t be saved.

For the rest of the year I had only one job, Subway, and that too fucked me up. The coworkers I met were nice but I didnt vibe with the manager. I remember making so many mistakes in a row she sent me home early, which seems nice and fair, but I took more offense from it because if I make mistakes id rather try to fix then be sent away. I ended up quitting that job anyway after two week of being there. When it comes to the jobs ive had post-subway it’s a different story. sure, I had very nice coworkers to casually talk to but no relationships that blossomed into something more.  Or at least, I didnt have the balls to see if a deeper bond with them was possible. All the embarrassing moments from high school had bruised and hurt the social butterfly I am/want to be deep down. It especially didnt help that I, to this day, dont have a drivers license yet and so asking anyone to hang would be a trouble.

Girls were another problem too, talking to them was an extreme struggle because I was just too in my head. Do I smell good? Am I bringing something interesting to the convo? Am i coming off as a werido?  It gets especially bad when Im attracted to them, which was pretty much most of them. Let me just say Im dont hate women or anything stupid like that. It’s simply that when talking to girls my anxiety triples.

A coworker and my parents have suggested that I should go to college (ive gotten a GED since dropping out) because it seems that it would be both a better fit for me rather than the warehouse industry and to also meet people my age. While I’m not entirely against this idea, I fear im too stupid to go and I still dont know what I want in terms of a life long career. I know a lot of advice people say to get out of loneliness: socialize more, get into clubs, find community events, etc. Yeah, I’ll give it to you that meeting people isnt rocket science, but it is fair to say that it’s difficult to mentally prepare and make the first move.

Again, I just wanted to get this off my chest.

what do you think of 4 separate movies telling the story of Dick, Jason, Tim, and Damian's tenure as robin from their own perspective? similar to the upcoming Beatles biopics

what does it say about me as a guitar player that im good/ more akin to replicating vocal melodies on songs instead of playing that song's chords?

im 6 months in playing guitar and I feel ive been stagnant. in the sense that I just dont play chord progressions. I try to write my own but I never play other songs. with that said I have learned one song's chord progression but its pretty simple. im not good at switching chords fluently, but what I am good at is replicating the singer's vocal melody on the guitar. its fun for me to do that.

Do you consider yourself a creative person? And how do you work on getting better at your skills?

As for me, yes and no. Sure, I have plenty of ideas. Some novel, some trite, and other ideas are just stupid things that my brain comes up with to make me laugh. Ive also been able to think of creative ways to solve a situation. whether its fixing something with unconventional methods or straying away from proven methods to find a new ways to solve problems. But hen it comes to art, I dont have a problem of generating ideas but I do have a problem of creating it into a tangible thing. It’s out of laziness, stubbornness to learn fundamentals, and being scared of the final product not being how I imagined. This problem has held me back, it’s like my ideas and aspirations of what I want to creatively accomplish dont match my technical skill or what im capable of making. Whether it’s guitar or writing poetry, my ideas are just too advanced for my capabilities. The only creative hobby that im not having problems with is sewing cosplays. I experiment, I fail, I stray from proven methods, but whats separates this from my other creative hobbies is that I actually make and finish projects. I guess I just dont care about the consequences of failing in this case, the fun outweighs it.

So maybe I am a creative person. I guess my problem is I wish i could take my attitude for sewing and apply it to other creative hobbies. Im actively learning fundamentals of guitar, and allowing myself to have fun. But when it comes to poetry I just can’t seem to start writing. my mind will always randomly come up with a line that sounds good or deep or whatever, but ive never sat down and written poetry.

Two things.

  1. I dont like preset clothes 90% of the time in video games. sure the ones they give you in WOA dont look bad but im someone who spends an unnecessary amount of time trying to make outfits. so having no form of customization to clothes is sad. but, like I said, the presets are good enough so I can live with it. however...
  2. why do a lot of the good fits have gloves? I dont want to wear that shit. there are some that dont have gloves, which is very nice. but the ones that have gloves upset me because those are the outfits I actually want to wear.

so overall the clothes selection being mixed at best and the lack of customization is a huge bummer. at least the game is still fun
