Skipping main Bali! Bad idea?

Is it a bad idea to skip main areas like Ubud for low-key areas like Sidemen and Munduk? Our preference is more nature and authentic Bali over Instagrammy, touristy places.

P.S. I have just 6–7 days, as I plan to spend 3 nights in Nusa Ceningan.

Please review my 4D Singapore itinerary

Planning to stay 2 nights (August 8 and August 9) in city area (likely Novotel Singapore On Stevens) and 1 night in Sentosa island (Sofitel Singapore Sentosa). Next 11 days planning to stay in Bali. Please suggest if anything can be skipped or added.

Day 1: August 8 – Ultimate Airport Experience, Recovery & Gardens

  • 04:40 AM – Arrival at Changi Airport: Take your time clearing immigration and collecting your luggage. There is absolutely no need to rush.
  • 05:45 AM – Hands-Free Airport Exploration: Head over to the Jewel complex. Drop your heavy bags at the Baggage Storage counter (Level 1) so you can wander freely. Walk through the Shiseido Forest Valley (open 24/7) to enjoy the misty, quiet indoor trails before the daytime crowds arrive.
  • 07:00 AM – Relaxed Local Breakfast: Grab an authentic local breakfast (like traditional kaya toast, soft-boiled eggs, and kopi) at one of Jewel's early-opening or 24-hour cafes.
  • 08:30 AM – The Skytrain & Canopy Exploration: Walk across the glass link bridges connecting the terminals. Tip: Take the free landside Skytrain that runs between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3—it passes directly through the interior of Jewel, giving you an elevated preview of the architecture.
  • 10:00 AM – HSBC Rain Vortex Opening: Secure a spot on the upper viewing decks or head down to Basement 2 (where the water drops into a massive acrylic funnel). Watch the world's tallest indoor waterfall turn on and start its roaring 40-meter descent exactly at its morning opening time.
  • 10:45 AM – Travel to Novotel: Collect your luggage from storage and take a taxi or Grab straight to Novotel Singapore On Stevens.
  • 11:15 AM – Morning Unwind & Fitness: Arrive at the hotel and hand your bags over to the concierge. Since your room will be ready closer to 3:00 PM, head straight to the hotel's wellness facilities. Loosen up stiff travel muscles by utilizing the gym or taking a refreshing, relaxed swim in the large outdoor lap pool.
  • 01:00 PM – Room Check-in & Long Nap: Settle into your room, freshen up, and take a much-needed afternoon nap to fully recharge.
  • 04:30 PM – Singapore River Cruise: Take a short ride to the Clarke Quay jetty to board a traditional bumboat for your 40-minute scenic ride to Marina Bay Sands.
  • 05:30 PM – Gardens by the Bay: Walk straight into the Gardens to explore the cool, air-conditioned Cloud Forest and Flower Dome.
  • 07:45 PM – Supertree Light Show & Dinner: Catch the "Garden Rhapsody" light show at the Supertree Grove, followed by a relaxed dinner at the Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.

Day 2: August 9 – Active Morning, Art & National Day Fireworks

  • 08:30 AM – Cycling the Marina Bay Promenade: Start your morning with a flat, breezy bike ride around the bay using a local bike-sharing app (like Anywheel or HelloRide). The promenade is completely pedestrian-friendly and offers stunning morning views of the skyline.
  • 10:30 AM – ArtScience Museum: End your cycling route right at the lotus-shaped museum. Spend a couple of hours walking through the highly immersive, digital art exhibits at your own pace.
  • 12:45 PM – Lunch: Enjoy a comfortable lunch in the Marina Bay area before heading back to the hotel.
  • 02:30 PM – Midday Break: Return to the Novotel for some downtime to rest and avoid the peak afternoon heat.
  • 04:30 PM – Head to Kallang: Make your way toward the Kallang Wave Mall area early via MRT (Circle Line to Stadium MRT) or taxi to beat the heaviest National Day transit crowds.
  • 06:30 PM – Riverside Dinner & Fireworks: Grab an early dinner at the mall or surrounding restaurants, secure a viewing spot along the Kallang Basin public promenades (like Tanjong Rhu Promenade), and enjoy the spectacular 8:00 PM National Day fireworks show over the water.
  • 09:00 PM – Return to Hotel: Take your time heading back to the Novotel, allowing the initial rush of the event crowds to disperse.

Day 3: August 10 – S.E.A. Aquarium & Sentosa Island Retreat

  • 09:00 AM – Breakfast & Checkout: Enjoy breakfast at the Novotel, check out of your room, and take a taxi straight over the bridge to Sentosa Island.
  • 09:45 AM – Baggage Drop: Arrive at the Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa to drop off your luggage early with the concierge.
  • 10:15 AM – S.E.A. Aquarium: Head to Resorts World Sentosa. Spend a couple of deeply relaxing hours watching manta rays, sharks, and vibrant coral reefs glide past the massive Open Ocean viewing panels. It is a stunning, air-conditioned experience that serves as a perfect preview for your upcoming diving trips in Bali.
  • 12:30 PM – Island Lunch: Take a short ride to Quayside Isle at Sentosa Cove. Enjoy a quiet, upscale lunch right along the yacht marina, completely removed from the busy theme park crowds.
  • 03:00 PM – Resort Check-in & Beach Time: Head back to the Sofitel to check into your room. The property is perched atop a cliff surrounded by 27 acres of lush tropical greenery. Spend the late afternoon relaxing by the pool or take the direct access path down to Tanjong Beach for a quiet, unhurried walk on the sand.
  • 07:30 PM – Resort Dining: Dine at one of the hotel's cliffside restaurants, soaking in the tropical evening vibes and fully transitioning into holiday mode.

Day 4: August 11 – Ultimate Relaxation & Departure

  • 09:00 AM – Leisurely Breakfast: Sleep in and enjoy a slow, unhurried morning at the resort.
  • 10:30 AM – Pamper Session: Make full use of the resort's leisure facilities, which include a beautiful outdoor pool and an award-winning spa, to ensure you are completely refreshed before your flight.
  • 12:00 PM – Resort Checkout: Say goodbye to Sentosa Island.
  • 01:00 PM onwards – Proceed to Changi Airport: The resort is approximately a 22 km drive from the airport. Head off with plenty of time to catch your flight for the next leg of your adventure in Bali!

Need suggestion for 14 days Bali and Lombok trip from India

I am planning for a 14 days Bali and Lombok trip in July. I want to avoid very crowded places so that we can enjoy the nature. Don't like crowd and party vibe, instead would prefer leisure slow travel experience. Based on my research, this is the plan I came up with, can some one check based on on ground experience and suggest if I should be making any changes?

Phase 1: Authentic North & East Bali (The Mountain Start)

  • Day 1: Airport → Munduk. Arrive at DPS, transfer 3 hours north into the highlands. Stay: Munduk Moding Plantation (famous for its infinity pool "above the clouds").
  • Day 2: Munduk Nature. Take an easy 15-minute walk to Banyumala Twin Waterfalls, followed by a peaceful, non-motorized traditional canoe ride across the sacred Lake Tamblingan.
  • Day 3: Munduk → Sidemen. Drive 3.5 hours south to Sidemen, stopping on the way to ride e-bikes through the stunning, UNESCO-listed Jatiluwih Rice Terraces.
  • Day 4: Sidemen Valley. Stay: Samanvaya Adults Only Resort (luxury bamboo villas). Take a short 60-stair walk up to Gembleng Waterfall to soak in natural cliffside infinity pools.
  • Day 5: Transit to Lombok. Take a morning fast boat (1.5–2 hours) from Padang Bai harbor to Bangsal, Lombok, then transfer to the southern coast (Kuta).

Phase 2: The Lombok Loop (The Middle Adventure)

  • Day 6: South Lombok. Stay: Pullman Lombok Mandalika. Explore Sasak weaving culture at Sade Village, relax at Tanjung Aan Beach, and take a quick 15-minute stroll up Merese Hill for sunset.
  • Day 7: Secret Gilis. Take a private boat tour to the uncrowded Gili Nanggu (snorkeling), Gili Sudak (seafood BBQ), and the tiny islet of Gili Kedis.
  • Day 8: Central Highlands → Senggigi. Visit the curtain-like flows of Benang Kelambu Waterfall, using a local scooter shuttle to skip the trek. Transfer to the west coast. Stay: Katamaran Hotel & Resort.
  • Day 9: North Gilis. Take a private glass-bottom boat to Gili Meno to see the famous "Nest" underwater statues and turtle sanctuary without dealing with crowds.
  • Day 10: West Coast Leisure. Enjoy the resort's glass-fronted pool and head to Batu Bolong Temple for a mesmerizing, peaceful sunset view, followed by a farewell beach dinner.

Phase 3: Nusa Penida & Sanur (The Scenic Finale)

  • Day 11: Lombok → Nusa Penida. Take a direct fast boat to Nusa Penida. Stay: Maua Nusa Penida (private cliffside pool villas overlooking Gamat Bay).
  • Day 12: Nusa Penida Exploration. Early morning at Diamond Beach (enjoying the views from the top viewpoint to avoid the grueling stairs). Afterward, take an easy motorbike shuttle down to Tembeling Forest's natural freshwater pools.
  • Day 13: Penida → Sanur. Visit the massive, peaceful Goa Giri Putri cave temple. Take an afternoon fast boat back to Bali. Stay: Maya Sanur Resort & Spa (an award-winning wellness sanctuary).
  • Day 14: Final Leisure & Departure. Indulge in a restoring 2-hour Balinese Spa Ritual before final souvenir shopping and your airport departure.
