Atlas GMT charcoal
This is the only charcoal model in the Monta catalog and it is darker than anthracite. Sharp looking design.
Blue Noble Voyager
You rarely see these in the wild. The green pop up every once in a while on the secondary markets, but I don’t believe I’ve ever seen the blue model. Whoever is buying them, they’re keeping them.
36mm is too small
Every once in awhile I see someone say that instead of increasing to 40mm for a models, Monta should scale down to 36mm. Not for me. I’ve owned a few 36mm dials and they are too damn small. I hope they don’t experiment with that idea.
Was I wrong?
Selling a watch for $250 and a would be buyer offers $200 which I would accept. The problem is that I noticed the watch had a dead battery so I made a counter offer of $210 to cover the cost of installing a new battery. Haven’t gotten a response yet, but I wonder if I should have just absorbed the cost. The $10 was based on my experience in these situations, but I would not go higher than that regardless of what it costs.
There’s something about the SkyQuest GMT…..
I seriously hope they never mess with this design. I’m a no date option guy, but even the date window doesn’t bother me. I’d leave it where it is at the six o’clock position. Maybe instead of a circle dot at the bezel 12, consider a triangle? They nailed this design and can’t be improved.
NWA SkyQuest GMT Pepsi
Monta’s newest retail partner is Vanscoy Mauer Bash (VMB) jewelers in Lancaster, PA. I went there a few days ago (just an hour train ride from my Philly office) and bought my 5th SkyQuest, my favorite model in the brand catalog. My first experience of buying a Monta in a store and it’s nice to walk out with one on your wrist. Most of my Monta watches were bought second hand, but I will do this again. I also picked up a blue Monta cap!
