Hi, I'm reaching out to you again to talk about Oroob. She is pregnant and suffers from blood clots, so she needs a 50$ heparine injection almost every day to feel well and not risk miscarriage. She is 6 months pregnant and already lost a child due to the illness. She is in a very difficult situation right now, as her doctor has prescribed her two injections costing 150$ each for the lung developement of her baby and she can't afford that. I can guarantee she sent me the medical prescription and I have made video calls with her. She has very few heparine injections left and on top of that she needs money for food. I will attach pictures. This is her Instagram https://www.instagram.com/oroob_gaza/

Every share/donations is a great help, thank you to everyone who donated last time❤️

How to set boundaries while helping a family?

Hi,

before anything else, I want to say that I have done my verification and am 100% sure the people I'm helping are from Gaza and need help, and that they have always been nothing but polite and understanding towards me, so I encourage anyone to donate to them, and I recognize this is 100% a me problem.

In july I have donated hundreds of dollars to a family I am talking to. This is because they had issues with their previous campaign and the donations stopped, so I was their main provider for a while. I have never donated so much money to anyone, my bf knows about the family but I have to lie about the amount of money I sent them because he would get very worried. I donated a lot because the woman in the family has a health condition and has to take very expensive medicine every day.

After they asked me for a large sum of money to cover medical expenses (which I agreed to because I had just got paid) I told them I really needed to take a break from donations for the rest of the month. They seemed understanding, however just a week later they asked for 150$ for food and debts, which I gave them, and now I am really starting to see that I am unable to say no to them. This is since I started talking to the wife, bc I can't stand to see another woman struggle. I feel like the only things that keeps me from donating is to stay off Instagram. But if I don't respond for a day, I see they tried to call me multiple times and they say they are extremely worried about me and they will not be okay until they see I'm there. I tried explaining to them that they don't have to worry, that I am just not on social media everyday: which is true, before talking to them I was on IG just once every 2-3 days so I'm not trying to abandon them or anything. I tell them that, but still if I take time away from Ig they still message me that they are very worried. So if I don't talk to them I feel awful, but if I talk to them I know they will ask for money bc It happens like once a week. And just to clarify, even when I'm not online I'm still always thinking abt them, I constantly check their fundraiser to see of they have money for the day and I have sent them smaller amounts without telling them.

I don't plan to stop donating to them, but I am worried about this situation. The only time I managed to say no to them was when they asked for a bday gift to their niece, to which I replied I would only help them with emergencies. I feel like now they have be come used to me sending them the money they need, which is unfair to them as well: now the donations are starting to take off, but if they stop altogether I won't be able to provide them with the thousands they need. I feel like I really need to stop talking to them (while still donating), am I a bad person for this? I really want to hear the perspective of other people who are helping families...

Fundraising and children's privacy

Hi, I'm sorry if this is kind of a weird question. A couple in Gaza I'm in contact with, asked me to create an Instagram account for the woman's little niece. The niece is orphan and they have recently opened a new fundraiser just for her (they originally just had one for themselves since the wife is pregnant and sick and need medicines). I'm not the person managing their fundraiser or their niece's. Basically they want me to make an Instagram to spread the campaign around, presumably using the child's pictures. These pictures, of course, are already in the fundraiser as well as her parents' death certificate. I have yet to respond to them because I have a very big doubt on how ethical this is, expecially cosnidering she is a small child. Of course, if I were to do that, it's not like I would try to impersonate her on the account but I would make it evident that the account is ran by a different person. But my issue is that, presumably, I would have to contact a lot of people with an account that contains this child's pictures and information. I'm scared creeps on the Internet might use her pictures, though I've seen a bunch of Instagram accounts similar to this already, with pictures of children that need help, so am I worrying about nothing? Is the situation too desperate to even worry about privacy? Of course if I refused to do it I'm sure they'd be disappointed.

I am also not sure why they decided to make a separate fundraiser for her, I feel like they could have included her in their family fundraiser, but I really don't judge that as I'm sure they have their reasons.

If somebody who is more experienced than me has and opinion I would greatly appreciate it (I have never created an IG for a fundraiser...)

Grazie

Help a woman in Gaza through a high risk pregnancy

Hi everyone,

this is the new link for Hassan's and Oroob's fundraiser, and the second one is for Oroob's little niece who lost all her immediate family to the attacks on October 23rd. Hassan and Oroob are a couple living in a tent in Gaza. Oroob is expecting and she suffers from blood clots, which means if she doesn't take heparine daily she is at risk of miscarriage and can not feel well. However, medicine os very expensive and one heparine injection costs her 50$. On top of that, they both need money to eat and she and her mother are taking care of her niece who lost both her parents in the war and was left injured. She also needs food and clothes.

They recently had a serious problem with the person who was managing their campaign, they had to close the fundraiser and open a new one with a different person. So if you've already seen a similar fundraiser, that is why. If you have donated to that before, however, don't worry because that happened after they recieved the last payment.

You can help by:

- sharing (this is a new fundraiser so they really need it)

- donating even a small amount (right now all the donations u see are made by one persone)

- point me to somebody who might be willing to make an Instagram video about them so I can contact them. Because they can not trust the person who was making videos for their first campaign anymore, they have to start from zero. (There are probably other people from her former fundraisers who need this right now)

I need technical help for a friend in Gaza

Hi,

Sorry for bothering and stealing space to fundraisers. My friend Oroob (https://www.instagram.com/oroob\_a\_10?igsh=bDhsODd6OTRlY2g5) has had their funds blocked from the person that was running their fundraiser. The person in question said she is in a difficult situation and she can no longer send the money from the fundraiser. This apparently happened yesterday evening, so she was able to recieve the money up until that point, but I sent her money this morning without realizing. For the moment she set up a new campaign herself (https://chuffed.org/pay/campaign/019f9d9a-4010-79b8-8a49-e3679e578fb0) but she is asking me if she can change the bank account on the original fundraiser, so she can keep the original one and retrieve the money I sent her. She has access to the original campaign but she does not know how to do that. Do you know if that's even possibile for a palestinian bank account? It's sad because they are trusted people who have been verified, so this situation Is embarassing for them. I am also nervous about what happened to my money this morning. Just so you know, any fundraisers by Victoria.marvin are now in this situation. I removed the previous fundraisers and will remove this post as soon as I get a solution so I can leave space to the fundraisers. Sorry

Hi everyone,

I am reaching out to you today to talk about Hassan and his pregnant wife Oroob, who live in a tent in Gaza. Oroob is pregnant and she suffers from blood clots, which make her pregnancy high risk. She needs daily heparine injections, but she can recieve up to two injections a month via humanitarian organisations; the rest of the month she is left suffering and at risk of miscarriage. One injection at the pharmacy costs her 50$. They recently ran out of the medicine they had so now they are relying solely on donations. They also need money for food. Please help me spread the word, or donate even a small amount so it can add up. Today is also Hassan's birthday.

I'm going to link their socials and some photos. (Sorry if I already posted this fundraiser: I hope this isn't comsidered spam, but we are still very few people donating most of the money).
