Friend detained from flotilla

Wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with folks they know being detained by Israel. My friend is a first mate aboard a boat bringing medical supplies to Gaza and was taken along with around 60 others. We’re all in contact with our representatives but it’s mostly loads of “official” responses. Just worried and hopeful they are released soon and their time there isn’t as traumatizing as I expect it is. Thanks.

Questio for Palestinians here living behind the orange/yellow line?

It would be interesting to hear about your lived experience behind the orange/yellow line like what you do, what you can or cannot do, how you work or get any money, where you find/buy food, whether you still have your home or live in camps, and whether you are simply stuck there or ended up behind the line after it shifted.

Also, how does it work regarding the army’s presence and the presence of Hamas or other Palestinian armed groups? Are you free to move around, or is there a curfew, for example?

I imagine there is very little chance of finding someone on this sub who is exactly in that situation, but who knows, maybe with some luck someone can share their experience, that would be really interesting. And also maybe Israeli soldiers who are directly there could also share their perspective if you have answers to some of these questions or anything else to share.

The worst feeling you can experience in a kitchen at night

Imagine this with me… You wake up at night inside the tent just to grab a plate. Everything is dark and quiet. You reach your hand into the sink to pick up the plate… and suddenly you feel something moving in your hand. A mouse 😭 What a feeling… just imagining it is enough to make you forget why you even came there in the first place. After that, I completely forgot what I wanted and left everything behind and walked away 😂 A small moment that literally just happened to me now…

I Turned 20 Today, But This Was Not the Life I Imagined

Today was my twentieth birthday.

Before the war, I used to work hard in my studies and focus on building my future. I had dreams I wanted to achieve by this age. I imagined a completely different life for myself — one filled with goals, education, and hope.

But unfortunately, everything turned out differently from what I imagined.

Today passed like any other difficult day.

No celebration, no feeling of joy, no sense that this day was special.

Instead, I spent it the same way we spend most of our days now: searching for water, thinking about food, and trying to get through another exhausting day.

These are things we never imagined would become the center of our lives.

Sometimes I think about how much war can change a person’s life in such a short time. Not only by destroying homes, but by taking away years, dreams, peace, and the normal life we were supposed to live.

I turned 20 today, but instead of feeling excited for the future, I feel like life stopped somewhere behind me.

Providing Math Education

I have been thinking for a while about how I may best lend help, as I'm not in a financial situation to regularly donate to relief programs, and the thought I had most recently was if there was some way I could donate my time to help teach / tutor math to those in Gaza. If any of you have any knowledge of whether there's some way that I could do it directly or if there's some organization I could join, that'd be much appreciated. Sadly, I am stuck for the foreseeable future with being virtual only and I know that it comes with a whole bunch of limitations for any direct impact.

As for my ability / qualifications, I am pretty much solely an English speaker (though I do know a bit of Modern Standard Arabic), and I have done some form of tutoring in math for 8 years now; all with a mixture of (American) elementary level math all the way up to a entry level differential equations class.

Any information or resources any of you may have would be greatly appreciated, even if the reality is that the best way to do something is just to wait until I could support those that are doing it directly.

Israel is deliberately being unreasonable

The Israeli state doesn't misunderstand the concept of reciprocity. It is actively rejecting it as a matter of national security. Reciprocity implies equality, and equality is the one thing a settler-colonial project cannot afford. If it were to acknowledge this concept of reciprocity, the entire justification for the occupation would instantly collapse. Therefore, reciprocity is viewed not as a path to peace, but as the subversion of the myth that colonial expansion is a preemptive security necessity.

Hamas is only defending itself

In the Western media, the term terrorism is used not as a precise legal definition, but as a political cudgel designed to delegitimize what can only be considered the struggle of an occupied and persecuted people. Criticizing Hamas for defending itself is the same thing as criticizing the people in the Warsaw Ghetto for being too violent. It is an attempt to demand the victims of a decades-long campaign of ethnic cleansing adhere to a standard of non-violence that the occupying power violates on a daily basis and with total impunity.

How should I go about collecting interviews for a historical archive I am creating about perspectives on the war in Gaza?

I live in New Jersey and I am trying to create a historical archive about the war in Gaza to spread awareness within my community. First, I have brainstormed about 50 questions that I would ask the people interviewed. Second, I need to find these people who would be willing to be interviewed. This is a primary step, but I am not so sure how to go about it. Do I reach out in facebook? Do I ask around in my neighborhood? Please give me some advice on how to do this.

Block The Bombs To Israel - E-mail your rep at the link!

E-mail your Representative at the link (letter pre-written) and urge them to cosponsor H.R.3565, the Block the Bombs Act.

As of 5/14/2026, H.R.3565 now has 70 cosponsors.

Israel's genocide against Palestinians in Gaza has entered its third year — and the United States is still arming it.

Since the start of Israel's genocide in October 2023, American taxpayers have footed the bill for more than $30 billion in weapons sent to Israel.

Those weapons have been used to kill more than 72,000 Palestinians, flatten hospitals, schools, mosques, and churches, and drive more than 90% of Gazans from their homes. Now Israel is starving an entire population by blocking humanitarian aid.

It's time to Block the Bombs.

On June 5, Representatives Delia Ramirez, Sara Jacobs, Pramila Jayapal, and Mark Pocan, along with 18 of their colleagues, introduced H.R.3565 to block U.S. weapons from reaching Israel.

If enacted, H.R.3565 would stop the Trump administration from shipping the exact munitions Israel has used in its genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.

These include: BLU-109 bunker busting bombs, MK80 series bombs, GBU-39 small diameter bomb variants, Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAMs), SPICE gliding bomb assemblies, 120mm tank ammunition, and 155mm artillery ammunition, including white phosphorus munitions.

The overwhelming majority of Americans want this flow of weapons stopped. Your Representative needs to hear that from you today.

I don't know what to do

Tagged as spoiler because this is a bit of a vent, but I am also genuinely looking for advice. I don't want to offend anyone here, but I honestly don't know what to do.

Essentially, I'm a college student in a lot of credit card debt; I feel that the people in Gaza need the money more than I do, but I know that I can't just keep sending money. It's not sustainable for myself, but I feel so guilty when their family members are literally dying and I am their only constant pillar of support. I know that they are not scammers and they are real people because I have video calls with them regularly and we exchange photos, dreams, hopes, etc. daily.

I tried to reach out to organizations who might be able to help as well, but I can't get through to them. The situation is very bad and these orgs are overworked as is, so I understand but at the same time I don't know what to do. I know I can't save everyone and I don't hope to, I just want to help my friends—but I feel like the only way I can is to donate, which I absolutely cannot anymore (I've almost maxxed out my card, I know it's bad).

I am not looking for criticism, I know I dug myself this hole and I don't want to seem like I'm complaining. I just feel incredibly useless in this situation, and I have ideas but no way to execute them efficiently without a team. I am genuinely at a loss.

I also want to add that I am working three jobs this summer as well in order to help myself + my friends in Gaza, but I just got them and I'm not put on a shift until much later this month. I am trying to do what I can, but the debt keeps piling up and I don't think I can manage it all. As I said earlier, this isn't sustainable and I'm already dealing with my own struggles as well.

I don't know how to end this, but again please be light on criticism (I know I'm in a bad situation of my own making), I am looking for genuine advice.

Defund Aid to Israel Letter to Members of Congress regarding the Gaza Genocide & West Bank Israeli Expansion, May 15, 2026

Here is my letter I e-mailed to my U.S. congressional reps for my state, the Chairmans of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee (Senator James Risch) and House Committee on Foreign Affairs (Rep Brian Mast), & the Chair of the Senate State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs (Senator Lindsey Graham). Please take as is or make adjustments as you see fit to send to members of Congress.

Contact Us | Congress.gov | Library of Congress

---------------------------------------

On the 78th anniversary of the Nakba, the death toll in the Gaza genocide has surpassed 72,700, with at least 854 Palestinians killed since a US-mediated ceasefire was announced seven months ago. Prime Minister Netanyahu now claims the Israeli military controls 60% of the territory. Because Israel continues to block the entry of excavators and heavy equipment, families are forced to dig through the rubble with their bare hands to retrieve an estimated 8,500 to 10,000 missing bodies. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza persists under a tight Israeli siege that has restricted the entry of agreed-upon aid trucks and essential recovery equipment. (Sources: Drop Site News, Middle East Eye)

The West Bank is currently facing an unprecedented pace of Israeli settlement expansion, highlighted by the secret approval of a record 34 new settlements in late March 2026, which represents a nearly 80% increase in official sites under the current government. This growth is coupled with a dramatic rise in settler violence, including attacks on the Palestinian Christian village of Taybeh and a recent incident where settlers forced a family to exhume their father’s body near Jenin. To facilitate further construction and "destroy the idea of a Palestinian state," authorities have uprooted thousands of Palestinian olive trees and moved to demolish dozens of commercial facilities to secure "territorial continuity" for Israeli outposts. Since October 2023, these escalations have led to the displacement of 40,000 Palestinians and a death toll exceeding 1,000 individuals killed by soldiers and settlers. (Sources: The Tablet International Catholic News, Drop Site News, The New Arab)

In response to the ongoing genocide and humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and the Israeli settlement expansion and violence in the West Bank, I urge you to:

·         Support H.R.3565 Block the Bombs Act to provide for a limitation on the transfer of defense articles and defense services to Israel.

·         Support S.3634 AWARE Act to impose sanctions on Israeli officials to discourage the government from obstructing humanitarian assistance

·         Support H.R. 3045 West Bank Violence Prevention Act of 2025

·         Support H.R.7545 Defending the Human Rights of Palestinian Children and Families Living Under Israeli Military Occupation

As American support for Israel plummets, it is our moral responsibility to question the continuation of U.S. financial assistance to their government. Israel continues to violate the rights of Palestinians, international law, and U.S. laws. The U.S. Members of Congress must push to end our military support of Israel.

79 students reached Italy while I rot in Gaza—How long must I be "Perfect" to be seen?

I graduated high school in Gaza in October 2025 with a 91.4% average in the science track. Since then, I’ve been applying to scholarships and universities abroad (Italy, Canada, and others), but I haven’t received any acceptance or clear guidance.

I already have:

authenticated school documents

recommendation letters

a valid passport

An intermediate English Level ( didn't have IELTS/TOFEL/DET )

a CV and motivation letters

I recently saw reports of students being evacuated or supported to continue their studies abroad, especially in Italy, and I’m trying to understand Which organizations or programs are actually helping students leave Gaza?

Are these opportunities tied to universities, NGOs, humanitarian programs, or personal connections?

What am I possibly doing wrong in my applications?

I’m looking for honest and practical advice from ppl who have gone through this process or know how it works.

Israel is a fascist genocidal state

There is no denying that Israel shows genocidal intent when it targets essential infrastructure during its military operations, an act which transcends any legitimate security rationale and can be described as a standard operating procedure for a settler-colonial fascist state. By implementing policies that ensure mass starvation, the spread of preventable disease and the total destruction of civilian infrastructure, you are showing the intent to ethnically cleanse a region. The intent is clear and we must subvert the official narrative used to sanitize mass slaughter.

Is this guy from Gaza scamming my friend?

Hey people.

My friend has a contact in Gaza who's requesting we transfer funds to him via Tron. He's been donating to his gofundme, started a local charity for him, and has moved to cryptocurrency to reduce the amount of fees and time to send the money. I've volunteered to do this for my friend since I have more experience using cryptocurrencies, but there's so many suspicious things about his account.

  1. While Tron is being used fairly actively in Gaza, he said he's using something called KAST wallet, which I've never heard of before. When I asked him to switch to a different wallet, like Binance or Metamask, or a custodial wallet, he didn't understand.

  2. This is his address:
    https://tronscan.org/#/address/TMQ6enH9QqXTYJhRjm6fobywiFaCvKfseW/transfers

Every time money is transferred into his account its immediately sent to another wallet within seconds. This makes me suspect this wallet is a bot or contract, because its hard to believe someone in Gaza is able to make transactions this quickly. They all go to the same wallet that has a ton of currency in it. Could be an exchange wallet, could be a vendor hes trading for NIS, I really don't know. I also don't know to what extent hes receiving crypto for other families either.

  1. This is a web of the account transfers in and out of the wallet:
    https://intel.arkm.com/tracer/d057f88d-f906-4543-8bec-a0aeeba380a9

Besides my own transfer and the binance exchange wallets, every other transfer are from accounts who are sending between each other. This is extremely suspicious.

As well it seems like this is actually an exchange wallet from something called ChangeHero? Which is located in Belize and has a lot of bad reviews.

We have to transfer some more funds to him today, so I'd appreciate your input beforehand. Is there any questions I can ask or analysis I can do to say clearly he is a scammer or not? I don't want to accuse an innocent person in a war zone and potentially take away their last lifeline, but I also cant shake the suspicious feeling.

No politics please.

Could someone get be me advice in this? It doesn’t seem suspicious but just want to make sure, since i saw we should verify

He had contacted me on instagram asking for help for him and his family in khan Yunis. The instagram doesn’t seem to be a repost of videos or anything like that, it’s just pictures of himself. He also sent me a whatsapp’s number that I texted him on it.

I already sent a little in his link (which he sent to me on insta) which said it was made by a person in Germany. And he said that I should gather up a large amount of money in my account first and then send it all at once, I had said I would try because my bank doesnt work with all money apps so some people won’t be able to send me money, and i’ll just share his link instead. But he just said it would be better to send it all at once.

I had asked for the number of the person who made the donation link, because he said he was in contact with her, and I wanted to work with her to spread his link. He didn’t give it to me and just said that she’s deaf and can’t speak, and that she doesnt understand social media, and that he has to help her set up the link.

He has sent me videos and pictures of his tent but none with his face or voice in them.

Does anything sound off? And is there any ways I can verify him?

A people cannot be denied their basic human rights

Framing the genocidal policy pursued by Israel as a necessity is no different than saying that Palestinians don't even have the basic fundamental right to live a decent dignified life. Defending this indefensible campaign of mass slaughter is to argue that Palestinian existence is an inherent obstacle to be managed or removed. It's a complete abandonment of any universal standard of justice and a clinical rejection of the very concept of human rights.
