Local stores for home goods

With money not being infinite but also would rather support fellow Guelphians businesses than the big box stores,

Where to go for bedsheets, pillows, duvets, bed frames, artwork, frames, books, bookshelves, small appliances, etc

Bonus for non home goods like outdoor toys, bikes, ice skates, etc

Big dreams, little melon

My 5 year old is learning to play hockey. Loves it. Wants to be a goalie but that's a future problem 💸 💸 💸 😂

Today's problem: The bucket we're borrowing (tacks 70 small) doesn't quite fit. Head is fine, not too tight, but their chin isn't even close to touching the chinrest. Nothing to adjust.

They're going to start another program in the fall that specifically required them to have a helmet that fits the chinrest.

We have a couple hockey stores nearby but any brands/models to look at for a kid with a 20"/51cm head?

No car, am I cooked w the buses?

How bad is the bus system fr? I'm coming without a car, living off campus. Am I going to wait for buses that never come, need to block off a whole Saturday to get groceries? Are they ever so full you have to chill until the next one?

3brm rentals

Looking for bungalows, semi-detached, or single-family listings in the ward, exhibition park, old university, downtown.

Trying to avoid suburban hell.

Have eyes on realtor.ca and Kijiji, but are there any properties you know of, $2700 or less?

Quirky teen interests

Friends coming to visit in June, any suggestions for events or places for their antique-loving, anime obsessed, arty teen? You know how upbeat and positive kids are about traveling with their parents… Would love to share places to eat, stuff to see, do, or shop.

Property Link Mgmt Services

Any feedback from current or past tenants? They have a few apartments I'd consider, but I've always had more luck with single owner landlords over property mgmt companies.

Coming from the US. What are some good practices as I'm looking for a place? What about as a tenant?

Is it poor form to negotiate rent with a landlord in a tenants market (aka plenty of housing available)? Ex. Asking for utility/utilities to be included in rent, asking landlord to match another property's rent or amenities, or lowering monthly rent in exchange for paying in advance?

I don't want to offend, but I also don't want to waste money.

Who do you recommend as a realtor in Guelph? Moving in a couple months (not buying, not selling) but want to rent someplace that meets my needs. Assistance from a knowledgeable person is good. Woman or non-binary professional preferred.

Moving up from Pennsylvania in early/mid August. Flexible timeline. Rather pay someone in Guelph/Kitchener/Waterloo than a company in the states. Who to reach out to, who to avoid?
