The unit economics of running a prop firm are incredible right now. But every time I look into actually launching one, the infrastructure seems like a trap. If you build a custom risk engine and it lags for two seconds, a trader can blow past their drawdown and leave you holding the bag. Plus, I keep hearing horror stories about Stripe banning prop firms because of the fiat to crypto payout requirements.

Are you guys actually building custom tech stacks for this, or is there a white label SaaS that handles the risk enforcement and payment compliance out of the box?

I've been freelancing in video production in Atlanta for a while and I want to have a direct conversation about something that gets discussed in DMs but rarely publicly: the payment practices of production companies in this market and how to protect yourself.

The Atlanta market has grown significantly in the last decade off the back of the film and TV boom and that's brought in a lot of new production companies with varying levels of financial infrastructure. Some are excellent, some have serious cash flow problems that crew ends up absorbing.

The signs I've learned to watch for: net-60 or longer payment terms offered without negotiation, vague language about processing time in contracts, no clear escalation path when an invoice goes overdue, and companies that are consistently booking crew at rates slightly below market which sometimes signals margin problems.

I'm not here to call out specific companies but I want to start a more honest conversation about how to screen for this before you're already on set.

What nobody really talks about is how strange it feels when the constant food cravings just... stops. I spent years with this strong urge to binge on a lot of things running in the background of everything I did, and reta just quietly turned it off. Took me a few weeks to even trust that it was real and not just a good stretch, but here I am and I am genuinely not complaining.

only problem is eating out with my girlfriend becomes a problem since I don’t eat much she also does not want to eat too much. She’s the type of person who only feels like eating when the other person also eats smh

seeing too many 'they're hiding something' posts in the last 24 hours. couple of facts:

1. cinemacon happened in vegas late march. major indian outlets covered it, you can google. yash and geetu mohandas presented a 9-minute preview.

2. variety india and sacnilk both reported the response from international distributors and exhibitors was unusually positive. the 'left global trade speechless' language is from the actual coverage, not from any pr deck.

3. yash's letter doesn't say 'we need more time on the film.' it says toxic is COMPLETE. the delay is about distribution alignment.

4. june 4 was always primarily a domestic india date with overseas dub support. true global simul was never officially announced. that's what they're trying to build now.

these are different problems. one is 'your movie is broken' (it's not). the other is 'your release strategy got more ambitious because the international response was bigger than you expected.' those are not the same thing.

You know that moment when you realize there was a petty queen sleeping inside you all along, just waiting for the perfect time to come alive. It kinda started with my jeans, my favorite pair to be exact. (Everything about that particular jeans suits me so well) , and I kinda had a hunch that she liked them too, from her nonstop compliments and occasionally stolen touches. Maybe it was my fault for not setting enough boundaries but tell me why this girl thought it was appropriate to try them on without telling me, maybe she thought i wouldn’t notice, you know, sneak it out and then in, but i knew right away that another pair of ass has been inside my jeans from how streched they were, I am honestly still clueless as to how it stretched this much after one use, because she is a bit bigger than i am but definitely not that much to do this much damage, now that has me thinking, did she ruin it in the washer or she has been sneaking it out for a longer period of time and i was just caughting on. And you guessed right, she played dumb when I confronted her about it, acted like I was imagining things, even threw a jab that i why would she touch a pair of cheap jeans i got off alibaba, ( ohh so now they are cheap!). So last week when I saw her precious Moissanite Pendants & Charms neatly arranged on her dresser, I had a brilliant idea, (I hid them, in fact I took them to my friends room so there would be no chance of her finding them even if she tried so hard). When she started looking for them days later, panic and frantically searching our room, i played dumb too, she asked me and i told her i have no idea where they were, some might say that i took it too far, and i am being a bad roommate, but i don’t care, those pendants and charms hold just as much significance as my precious jeans, it been up to a week now and the pendants are still sitting pretty in my friends shoe box painfully out of my roommates reach.
