Backyard Office Ideas

Looking to build an office in my yard. New home doesn’t have a dedicated office space so I need to create one. I have been researching them online but they are so drastically overpriced I am curious to see what anyone else is doing. I’d like to stay under $5k so I am considering buying/converting a shed rather than going to prefab office route. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

When did the Echo become a mouthpiece for Fox News?

Every day I see articles and videos from Fox News and there is no way to edit why content is shown on my device. Each “help” article lists recommendations, but none of them solve the root issue.

Is there a known way to select, or remove which news sources are shown?

Giving Directions

Does anyone else find themselves giving directions (or describing a location) based on what USED to be there? For example, I’ll say “that store is a few blocks where Tower Records used to be.” Or “that new restaurant is great, it’s where Radio Shack used to be.”

How many of us grew up with off-brand things?

I remember wanting Rice Krispies and my mom would say the classic line “we have that at home.” This is where the narrator would say that we in fact, do not have that at home. This mindset extended into clothing as well. Anyone else experience this?

Has anyone else gone to great lengths to hide the fact they have type 1?

I have had type 1 for over 30 years and up until a few years ago I had gone to great lengths to hide this from anyone I meet. It’s more so not wanting to deal with second parents or pseudo doctors when someone yells “you have diabetes, you can’t eat that.” Curious to know if anyone else has done the same.

Anyone else not where they thought they’d be?

Still living in my “starter home” after 16 years. Doesn’t look like I’ll be able to get out (sell/buy) easily as the market has swiftly and drastically changed. I really thought by this age I would have a larger home and be able to spend more time with my hobbies.

This ties into a larger issue of “what to do with all this stuff?” I have a very small house now, and when my grandmother passed, I was tasked with cleaning it her house and taking a lot of her things. Mind you I have zero space for this and it’s been taking up a lot of space for the last decade. It’s really sad that items I consider sentimental, have no real value. Trying to sell some things is a real humbling experience. I’ve started donating items to clear out space, which is good, I guess I was holding on to everything to try to rebuild these memories in an extra room, I now know that’s not possible.

This is a long winded way of me saying that I need more space and I hope to one day start playing music again.

Is anyone else going to something similar?

Younger generations will never know the fear

People today will never know the fear of an ATM taking your debit card while the transaction was occurring. I always panicked a bit every time.

What are some other fears younger generations will never know?

Anyone notice certain foods have fewer carbs?

Long Island, NY resident here. I have noticed over the past several months that the amount I have been using to bolus for bagels is too much. My guess is that businesses are trying to stretch their ingredients to save money, but it’s challenging for this T1D as my number drops. I’ve had to adjust and give less insulin; it’s a learning process. Curious if anyone else has experiencing this or something similar.
