Taylor’s Dakota cooperation

So, I actually quite like the Patient zero song, and music video, and I always like 2 female friends doing a project together. Taylor and Dakota seem to have good vibes.

However, I did suddenly realize, while noticing the Patient zero outfits are the same as Dakota wears in her new movie Verity (so the video is a bit of free promotion for the movie), that Dakota is the star of the NEW C Hoover adaption! The last time we saw Taylor being close to a friend was with Blake during the last Hoover adaption. Anyone else found this a strange coincidence? Not trying to throw shade it just suddenly hit me and I couldn’t ignore it.

My favorite shows

I just went to Fringe, loved trying out all kinds of of shows, on the one hand loved finding something special in all of them and on the other noticing really big differences in quality between shows - these were my absolute favorites:

-Fat Tom Cruise: wildly talented performer, gripping from the first second, very professionally done, real funny but with many layers. It was my fav & I’m actually considering going back to see it again.

-Lizzie Sunshine: American show tackling American problems, but in a good way, very strong performance and the only one I was crying big tears at the end.

-Meteors: This was my second favorite. It was scheduled alongside some crowd pleasers so it wasn’t totally packed, but I feel so lucky I saw this one. The Australian performer is not scared of intimacy, and tells the story of her mom dying in a sincere but comedic way. Will open your heart.

-Boiler Room Six, a titanic story: I had read good reviews and it was still better than expected. Get transported to the Titanic through the eyes of someone working in the boiler room and many others all impersonated by the same person. The text (which you can buy afterwards) and performance are real magic.

Sitters, how do you deal with the frustration of an unfair review?

I did about 8 sits, all 5 stars, one with four stars in specific categories. As I’m just starting out and love gifting etc, I usually always leave a small present & handwritten note, next to leaving all clean etc.

I recently had an experience where I did a just 2 day sit with all 5 stars reviews. Upon arrival I regretted it a bit as it was surprisingly not clean, dirty dishes and mold among others, and had been quite hard to reach. The amount of time I spent on cleaning / making myself comfortable was too much for just a 2 day sit. The bedroom was very hot, and no fan was provided.

However, the kitties were very nice and the house cutely decorated, so I left in the usual manner and bought fresh flowers as a gift. I did say to myself that this was too much for just 2 days and that I would start toning gifting down, only leaving gifts on very nice long sits.

All went smooth and standard, we had normal conversations on whatsapp. Via WhatsApp host had thanked me for leaving the house in such an exceptionally good state. Then came the review: 4 stars, with also only 4 stars for cleanliness. I understand things are subjective, but in this case I’m 100 percent certain I left the house much cleaner than I found it, and even pristine. It feels like projection? I feel all kind of emotions, frustration, anger, powerlessness and also angry at myself for leaving them a 5 star glowing review myself (which is my standard…), not checking their reviews of others (often critical). I also feel vulnerable as I’m on a sit right now and don’t want them to see this. How do you guys deal with this?

So, I’m a European, where egg freezing is not as normalized as in the US. I had kind of a nightmare experience:

I’m end thirties, and started this process about 2 years ago. Waited for a long time on the waitlist (in my country there are only a few clinics who do egg freezing). I went to a clinic in an academic hospital. When I got off the waitlist, I got ascribed a male doctor that gave me the creeps. It was unlucky as there were like 9 female doctors and 1 male at that clinic. I asked to go to a female doctor, expected to just be reassigned, but the process was I needed to discuss this with my (male) doctor. He talked over me & in fact told me that working with him meant I sometimes had to do scans/procedures in the weekend where there would also be only male assistants. It was weird. I tried to get reassigned outside him but to no avail. Because of the waitlists going to another clinic/hospital was useless, being end thirties with waiting lists being multiple years.

I took a pause of a couple of months, and decided to give it one more try as it’s about having my baby! So yesterday I called the hospital/clinic and said I wanted to proceed, but please give me a female doctor, but if not, I would proceed with the male one. At my stage in the process there should be no waiting line anymore (already got the first echos, ovaries were in good shape). I still got quite some time till the cut off age they have for egg-freezing. The assistant on the phone said fine, she would contact my doctor. This morning I received a cold message, stating she had talked to my doctor, and they don’t think they plan my freezing before the cut-off date, so they can’t help me any further. That’s it, just a few lines. Even though maybe there’s some truth to it (though the process should be way shorter than the time I have left), I can’t help but feeling this was the doctor’s ego making this decision. It feel’s…dark….I hate that a man was able to interfere with my chances of getting pregnant. Anyone experiencing something similar?
