Dancers

I came to Mombasa for work and I've been so focused on earning a living that I forgot how to live. I'm getting fat by the day since I was used to dancing but right now I'm literally going to work and back home. Are there any real dancers in Mombasa? Not TikTokers. Like real dancers who know what they're doing? I'm talking TheeForce vibes. Shout out to TheeForce btw. Where do you guys hang out?

What do you think?

I've identified a gap in the Kenyan market, Africa too I'd say. Unfortunately, technology and business don't mix well in our country which is so ironic since businesses rely on tech and vice versa. I'm not talking about building the next big SAAS in Kenya because we're not there yet.

Starting with "small businesses", say a business/company with 0-30 employees, doesn't have social media accounts and if they have, they're poorly managed, almost dead. Some don't have websites or landing pages. These businesses do most of their work manually. These are jobs that can be automated easily. This is just for already established businesses. What about people looking to start and need marketing services? People are now embracing content creation and they need social media managers and videographers.

That aside, we don't embrace content creation. Not because we are afraid, but we don't know the right way to do it. Organic content creation especially in Kenya where almost everyone has access to data and has a smart phone can make you pretty decent money but businesses don't know how.

I decided to start a company and I've been cold calling a lot of businesses just to see if my assessment of the market is correct and one thing I can tell you is there's an opportunity here. Despite all this, I'm disadvantaged because for a company like this to work, I need to offer a variety of services. Videography/photography, social media services, designing services and the most important tech services.

I need such people. I'm not looking to hire. I want people we can build something together with

Don't get me started with AI.

Special Needs

I'm a shadow teacher to this amazing kid with Down Syndrome. He's going to year 11 this year. He has difficulty speaking but he understands everything being said. He'll graduate in a few months, probably move to year 12 but my question is, what happens after that? Does he just stay at home?

I have researched a bit on Vocational institutions but I'm seeking more knowledge. I'm in Kenya but advice from anywhere is welcome.

August 1st

While I was in campus, there was this girl, light skinned, pretty face, she got everything going for her. We had something but that's a story for another day. Being a creative, I knew a lot of people both in that industry and other comrades as well so I had a lot of contacts.

Obviously guys are sliding in her DM, most of them are "big people" in that campus. I knew most of them and I had their contacts. So it's girlfriend's day, about 1pm, I saw a post where a girl was posted by like 3 different guys. They were just different status screenshots. I didn't pay much attention.

Later, I'm bored and I start going through my phone, turns out the post I had seen earlier was about this girl I had a thing with. Earlier I had mentioned that I knew a lot of "big people". I started viewing their status and turns out in my contacts only, 5 different guys had posted this girl, in the same outfit kwanza. And the captions were girlfriend related not just random posts.

Dust my friends. Dust.

Gen Z Parents

There's this Gen Z couple where I live and they be doing some "idk how to define it". They have a 6 or 7 year old and they be "torturing" this kid😂 Not abusing him or anything. The house is always loud. Music all the time, sometimes I can't even sleep. Just the other day idk what the kid did but he was being whooped and the dad was asking the kid "unaona kama Mimi ni matako Yako?" Why TF would you tell that to a child?😂

Can't wait to see what this Gen Alpha will be like when they grow up😂

PURE FACTS

Trust me, No matter how innocent a lady looks, you need to know these 3 things.

  1. No lady is dating one man. There is always a backup guy.

  2. No girl is loving for no reason. You must have something to offer.

  3. No girl can stay with a broke guy without cheating on him.

Kidum

I remember back in the days while we were all listening to THE BEAT in the evening and many other music segments. I was young, in primary and I used to hate these music segments because they either came before cartoons and they took long to end or after cartoons and they had to cut short the cartoons😅.

Even if I hated the music segments, I didn't like a particular musician. Kidum. Stay with me😅. His songs were slow and I didn't understand what they meant, I just didn't like the music. Fast forward, I'm 26 years old, guess who I listen to most of the time? KIDUM. He's on my Spotify in repeat.

This just shows how we outgrow and grow into things. Big up KIDUM.

Mental health

I got a D+ in KCSE in 2017, had to go back to school, and got a B-. I really worked for it. Got into campus. Everything was okay until my third year, I had to pause a bit because I had "failed" more than 4 units. Those who know which university this is and we're in the same boat as me say I.😂

I was dating, got a girl while I was in my first year, so she graduated before me. I had to stay on campus for another year. After a while of enjoying life after campus she left my broke ass. Eventually I graduate, and she comes back. Since I was a fool, I took her back. Got a job on the coast. The relationship is now long distance. I obviously have trust issues because what's stopping her from not leaving again.

I posted her story a while back and you guys gave me solid Advice which I very much appreciated. Fast forward to yesterday. I have been under a lot of pressure. My contract is almost over, I don't want to be employed again so I'm building a company that helps businesses get more customers online, since I feel businesses don't know how to leverage Social Media and AI. On this other side I have a girlfriend whom I'm insecure about. Since I'm on a 2 month leave, I'm working from home, so I'm basically on my laptop all day. I'm not getting enough sleep, I'm grinding all day and night.

Yesterday as I was on my laptop, I felt live my brain wa literally going to explode, I had this feeling that I can't really explain. I felt like screaming, I felt out of breathe, like I was suffocating. All this happened in like less than 2 minutes. It was scary as hell. I felt like I was loosing my mind. Turns out it was a panic/anxiety attack. I self diagnosed myself through Chatgpt.😂

After that incident, I have never seen things so clear. I stopped letting fear drive me. I had a lot of time to think and I had a talk with my girlfriend, I told her I wasn't okay and I needed time. She understood, I took a step away from work. I haven't opened my laptop since yesterday, I went for a walk, played pool. Watched France loose which was sad.

What I'm trying to say, prioritize your mental health, talk to people, don't keep things bottled up, work can always wait but your health can't. Prioritize yourself and keep winning.

Tutafute Pesa

So I dated this girl in campus, 2019-2024. I had some issues so I couldn't graduate with her so I had to stay in campus one more year. During this year, this girl, she's a keeper, she always held me down, she told me she couldn't do it anymore. Her reason was I couldn't provide/give her the bear minimum, whatever that meant. It was obviously a blow since we had been together for almost 5 years, but I figured maybe, since she had graduated, she didn't want to be associated with someone in campus as her boyfriend, which is why she left. Iliuma but I was like okay, I kept moving. Moving from a 4-year relationship ain't easy.

I'm single, in my final year now, but almost after after 7 months she texts, I deleted that chat immediately. After a few months she texts again, I deleted it. I never read what she was saying, I was just deleting the chats. Now it's December and I'm supposed to graduate, she calls, and because I had been through hell trying to graduate, I pick up, one thing leads to another and we start talking.

Two weeks after graduating, I land a job in Mombasa. Since we had started talking, I tell her the good news and a few months later she comes to coast, we get intimate and talk about things. I was miserable without her and the "bare minimum" she was talking about, I started meeting her needs. Financially obviously.

Fast foward to today. I wake up, called her, and she's like "chill I'll call you later niko swimo". And I'm like wth. So this brought back a lot of insecurities and a lot of "truths". First, since we're in a long distance relationship, where she works is miles away from a town where she can access a swimming pool, which means this was planned. She even sent me a photo. "Probably her side piece is the one who took the photo"

My question is, nagongewa? Should I just walk away? Was I wrong to take back someone who had left me? I'm I overthinking? Could she be out with friends, because she didn't mention she would be going anywhere.
