So I recently moved from the Republic of Ireland to Northern Ireland for a job. When I started I didn't have a national insurance number, just an Irish passport.

I got a national insurance number that same week and submitted it to my employer. A few weeks have passed and I'm still paying emergency tax. I've discussed it with my colleagues and I'm paying more tax than them despite working the same hours.

I realise I don't have a P45 from my previous employer as it's my first job in the UK and I don't recall filling out a new starter form. Does anyone know how I can resolve this situation/get a refund for the tax I've overpaid?

So I got an invitation for a bus driver trainee assessment with Transport UK London(formerly Abellio) and I'm wondering what to expect when I go to the assessment?

I have a UK automatic B licence as well as an Irish passport which gives me the right to work in the UK. I also have previous bus driving experience from the US(I've posted here before) if that's relevant.

So I've posted here before inquiring about becoming a trainee driver and since then I've sent my Irish car licence in to be exchanged for a UK licence.

So I talked to Arriva in North Wales and was told that they'll only take me on if I have a manual licence. My licence is automatic. For context I drove buses in the US for several years but due to there being no reciprocal agreement I had to get an Irish licence first. I passed mine in an automatic mostly to help myself get back on my feet as I had a crazy situation involving a partner developing bipolar and schizophrenia last year and I'm planning to get back into bus driving.

When I asked why I need an automatic licence for Arriva in North Wales I was told it's because the service vehicles are all automatic.

Anyway I'll have my UK Licence soon but I've got the whole UK(Excluding Northern Ireland) to choose from and don't know where to go.

I'm open to going anywhere, I figure I'll likely need to work in a city which is fine with me as I used to drive in New York City every day which is hectic but I know what to expect with city driving.

My main question is are there/will any place work with me if I only have an automatic licence?

So to start off with I live in the Republic of Ireland and I have a 2016 Renault Fluence. I'll be visiting England and Wales in less than 2 weeks and I'll also be moving to England before the end of the Summer. My car currently only shows the speed in kmph on the digital dashboard and I have no clue how to change it as I don't have the manual.

Does anyone know how to change it?

I(29M) moved from the US to Ireland last year. In this time I've earned an Irish B licence for a regular car.

However I have several years driving experience from the US and Canada. I've done intercity, local and commuter runs so I've got a decent amount of experience under my belt.

None of the bus companies here in Ireland will take me on as I don't have my Irish licence two years, despite me having experience and them having a driver shortage.

Meanwhile I'm currently working as a cleaner at a factory while I live with my parents and honestly I want to get out of my parents house, I had my marriage fall apart due to my partner developing what is likely Bipolar/schizophrenia and her having delusions about me.

While I've gotten better since all of this I'm looking to get my life back on track and be independent again. I'm also missing the bus driver life as crazy as it sounds.

My main question is could I go to the UK and get a job as a bus driver trainee with my Irish car licence? Or could I at least exchange my Irish car licence for a UK one and then become a trainee bus driver?

Also which bus companies are best to go to?
