It’s getting exciting, the round of 16!
Has anyone found a great spot in Wilmington to watch the World Cup?

Hey all 👋
I recently started ILM Live, a newsletter covering events, food, concerts, and general goings-on in Wilmington, NC. It's still early days and I'm trying to get it right before I really push on growth.
I'd love feedback from people who've actually run newsletters, nothing specific, just your honest gut reaction to the whole thing:
Here's the latest issue: https://ilmlive.beehiiv.com/p/the-weekend-roll-up-3f75aff3b6097803?draft=true
I’m totally fine to be blunt. I would much rather get honest feedback than send it to my friends and hear it now than after I've sent 50 issues the wrong way. Thanks in advance!
Curious, where have you had the best Red Beans and Rice in Wilmington?
Has anyone figured out how to update or remove the socials footer in the web view of your newsletter?
Hello everyone! I’ve been diligently working on my website for the past couple of months, and I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be launching it next week. As part of the launch, I’ll be introducing a newsletter. While I haven’t designed the newsletter or created a template within Beehiiv yet, I’m aware that there’s an MCP available, but I believe it requires a subscription fee for access to its functionalities. I’m currently on the free Beehiiv plan. Since I haven’t started the initial steps yet, I’m contemplating utilizing Claude and the Beehiiv MCP for those who have experience in designing newsletters. Alternatively, I’m wondering if it’s worth investing in the MCP now or if I should consider it in the future. My website serves as a community platform that showcases local events, venues, restaurants, and food trucks. My plan is to keep the newsletter simple and informative. It will be published on Thursday mornings to subscribers, providing them with a high-level overview of upcoming events for the week and restaurant recommendations for tourists. I eagerly welcome your feedback.
Hi everyone,
I’m currently building a community-focused local discovery site for Wilmington, NC. I’m about 50% through the build and have a solid Supabase setup where I ingest and clean scraped event data.
I’m moving into the newsletter phase and want to avoid the "manual copy-paste" trap. I’d love to hear from other devs/creators who are using automated workflows to bridge their database to Beehiiv:
Automation: Are you using middleware (like Make) to pull from your DB and create Beehiiv drafts, or are you building custom scripts to interact with the Beehiiv API?
The Module Approach: If you have an automated feed, how do you handle the "human" layer? I want to keep an "insider" voice but looking for ways to have event details pre-filled.
Layout Logic: How do you handle images/thumbnails in your automated pipeline? I want to ensure event cards look consistent without manually re-uploading assets.
Infrastructure: If you could go back to the early building phase, what is one "database schema" change you would have made to make newsletter creation easier?
Any pointers on avoiding "future technical debt" while I finish building out the site would be a huge help!
How does T-Mobile get away with this? Good thing I'm on another provider for my mobile phone service.
I thought it was my neighborhood, but my friend across town on T-Mobile is out also.
I'm feeling much better! I didn't think losing 45 pounds was possible, but I just set a new goal to lose another 15 pounds. I thought 45 was my goal, but that’s not the case.
Thank you all for sharing your stories and your encouragement.
Hi there! I’m planning a trip in September and I’m thinking of buying a lens for my iPhone to improve the quality of my phone photos. Do you have any recommendations for some of the lenses available on the market?
Hi Everyone! I have hit my weekly limit with Claude Design while working on a project. If I purchase tokens (no card on file yet), can I allocate tokens to design, or do I have to wait till next week?
I would like to use my monitor for both my Mac Mini M4 and MBP M5 Pro. Does anyone have a recommendation that they can share?
Thank you!
