My niece graduated high school and I wanted to gift her a book along with money. She is not planning to go to college right away and will be working for a year. Looking for a book that is inspirational but not over the top, something good for someone starting out in life.
My friend recently recommended a book to me and I absolutely hated it. I usually have no problem saying that it just wasn't for me, but she is so excited for me to read it. She says it's the best psychological thriller she's ever read, and wants to discuss about how great it is. It Was Awful! I only skimmed through to the end to see how it wrapped up and if maybe there was something positive that I could say about it. I don't know what to do, I haven't told her that I finished it because she's expecting me to love it. Help!
It's not much, but I have an extra $500 that I want to invest. I will be adding extra money monthly with the goal of saving for a large purchase or down Payment in the extra 5 years. I am in my 40's, I already put a good amount in a 401k, so this is extra income. I am not sure the best way to invest. I opened a Fidelity account but I haven't done anything with it yet. Any advice is appreciated.
