How is it like living in this part of Portugal? (The Alentejo)

How is it like living in this part of Portugal? (The Alentejo)

Everyone always talks about Lisbon, Porto, or the beaches down in the Algarve, but I've been looking at satellite maps and this huge region in the middle (Alentejo) caught my eye. It looks super dry, open, and way less densely populated.

I'm curious what everyday life is actually like here. I know it gets ridiculously hot in the summers around Évora and Beja, so how do people cope with the heat? Is the local economy still mostly based around agriculture and cork, or are younger people moving away to the bigger cities?

Would love to hear from anyone who lives there or grew up in the region about the overall vibe, food, and what it's like outside of the tourist spots.

Help, Engagement Party Fit

The party will be at a restaurant with plenty of outdoor space, until late in the evening. No black tie required, but the dress code is elegant and sea colors.

Which one would you wear?

Wear or donate?

My friend gifted me these sets after a trip in Turkey, joking that it will add more color to my wardrobe, and that may the reason for why I didn't end up wearing them much.

Seeing them on me, should I keep them and try to wear them or just donate?

Clouds forming on Costa Adeje, Tenerife

The sky above Tenerife changes super fast, catching you off guard. I took these pictures back in 2020, on a windy day so they disappeared quickly after.
