Just a bunch of smol lil torties, torticos and orangeys 🐾 🧡🖤

My lil loves had their first batch of gruel yesterday as they are officially 3 wks and have some lil teefers so I thought why not try? They all ate a tiny bit but I could see they weren’t quite ready yet so we shall try again in a few days. The first photo shows of my lil Tortie Pixie and her beautiful baby blues isn’t she just a doll! I mean they ALL are but she will be my keeper from this Trojan litter and almost all the rest of them have amazing homes too once they are ready. It’s been such a joy to watch these lil ones grow and there mama is a true QUEEN and has been doing an incredible job with them 🥰

Just some more photos of my Tortie and orangey smol babes for your cuteness viewing pleasure.🐾

I promised I’d keep updating everyone here after my first post of them yesterday. These babes will officially be 3 weeks old tomorrow. I got Momma in June from a lad on Craigslist who said she just showed up at her house and wanted her gone asap or else she was going to the pound and I went and instantly got her and a month later I found out she was preggers and then almost 2 weeks later she gave birth to this precious mix of Torties and orangeys so needless to say the spay appointment I had set up was too late. The lil family is doing wonderfully and thriving and happy and I think I will try to slowly start weaning them tomorrow on a slurry of some KMR and meat kitten food. If anyone has any good tips on weaning these babes that would be most helpful. I did worm them yesterday so we have that under our belt now but I think it’s time to try them on some soup and see how they do. They get more and more playful and sassy by the day and mama is still just the best mama EVER! Also I already have a spay appointment set up for mom when she’s ready and almost all babies have very responsible and loving homes set up when they are ready as well.

Just wanted to show off my unexpected litter of lil tortie babies 🥰

I got the mama who is a fluffy orange tabby and I got her of Craigslist from a lady who said she showed up at her house and she needed to go and since I was looking for an outdoor kitty to be my mouser I went ahead and got her but after a month of having her I realized she was pregnant and then after that it was 2 weeks later she had them. Anyway they are the most adorable lil baby’s and they are now 3 weeks old thriving and just being the cutest. Momma had 4 tortie girls and 2 orange tabby boys 🖤 🧡

I’m gonna have to get another shelf 😅

I think my shelf is full!! Most of my plants reside here for now I do have several hanging around but I think I’m gonna have to do something because my houseplant obsession is taking over!! The thing that sucks about my space is I don’t have a lot of windows and the windows I do have are blocked by by furniture or things I’m not able to move and then add several 150 lb dogs in the mix and that can make plant placement tricky. Considering using my husbands grow tent so I can keep adding and growing. I’d absolutely love to get all the pothos varieties that I can because I must say they have my heart!!

Is this scindapsus /silver pothos (1st 3 pics) a different type than my other silver pothos? (last 2 pics)

So when I saw this scindapsus (silver pothos) yesterday at Home Depot for $20 I could not pass her up!!! This girls leaves are MUCH bigger than the other one I have and also I have never seen a satins leaves this big before so I was very impressed and had to take her home. I scanned her with my plant ID app and it just said she was the same as the other one I already had at home ( a silver pothos) but I swear she’s gotta be a different type but I could be wrong. I am still fairly new to houseplants (a yr in) and still learning new things everyday. The lady who worked at Home Depot was commenting on how beautiful she was and how she wanted one and we went into a whole discussion on how BIG the leaves are and we’d both never seen their leaves get this big and even the one she had growing at her home has smaller leaves just like the other one I first purchased. She did pull some AI photo on her phone which was photos of different pothos and it showed the silver pothos with the big leaves like this and it said it was called an exotica? Has anyone heard of that or have one? I’m just really curious to exactly what type she is and if that AI photo the worker showed me was correct. So the first 3 pics are of my new girl with her big gorgeous leaves and then the last 2 photos are of the original satin I bought about 6 months ago just to show the comparison in leaf size. My original satin is happy and thriving and vining like crazy and still hasn’t produced leaves the size as the one I bought yesterday. Any info on this or photos of yours if you have one would be so kindly appreciated and helpful. Ty for taking the time to read or help out. 💚💚

Very first Alocasisa any advice for a new owner of one?

So I bought my very first alocasia yesterday from Traders joes for $6 and I thought I’d snag her up since I’ve been seeing so many of you with such beautiful varieties of them and have fell in love with them and so I was inspired to get one and see how well I did with her before spending a lot more money on some of the more rarer expensive ones. From what I found out she’s an Elephant ear ‘Low Rider’ but that’s about all I know so any tips would be so helpful and also maybe what to expect for size and such? I appreciate anything you guys have to offer for me. I’m a newer houseplant mom (about a yr now) but since starting I’ve acquired many different plants including several tropicals and so far I’ve been seeming to pretty dang well but ofc with anything I’ve had a little hiccup here and there which I’ve always researched and corrected but since this being my first alocasia and now finally here on Reddit I thought I’d ask some of you guys what your thoughts and advice were. Ty for reading and for any help y’all can offer. Much love and happy growing season 💚 🪴

Another photo of my moss wall but at night and all lit up with the pothos lights

I forgot to show you guys how magical she looks at night when I turn the pothos vine lights on because she pops even that much more and is just so magical 🧚 Anyway I originally ordered one box of them because I was like oooohhh and she will need some vines on the moss wall to add that extra bit of life and then once I did that I was like ok I’ll buy another box to wrap the shelf with them too 😁 I’ve had a lot of ppl ask me for links to what I used and I’m new here so still figuring out how Reddit works but I’d love to just somehow add the links to a post so everyone who wants access to them can have them. 💚 I appreciate each and everyone of you as you all have been so kind and welcoming and you all are so helpful on all things plant related 🥰

Newer house plant mom here just wanting to show all my plant lover friends my newly finished moss wall behind one of my plant shelves 🪴

Thanks for taking the time too look and read my post!! I am new to this group and I’m trying to find more plant lovers out there and looking for any tips and tricks along the way. My plant obsession started a year ago after she gave me a couple pothos plants when she was moving outta town. With lots of days spent researching plant care and days spent over watering or giving not enough light I’ve definitely evolved but still learning a lot every day but now here I am with this big plant shelf filled with lots of green and happy plants and then not to mention the moss wall I added last weekend im finding myself completely obsessed with plants and always looking for new ones almost every day 😅 and also find myself hours on my phone doing research and looking for other plant loving friends that I can learn from. I do have a monstera that I posted on my profile that I’m needing some help with so if any of you have time to take a look at and and have any advice I’d be so appreciative. I’m also new to Reddit so I’m learning all about this space too. 💚
