Umm wtf? Can someone offer some insight?

I initially made a purchase on Umart for a new monitor for $1160.49.

I made an initial repayment amount of $290.00.

I then cancelled order with merchant and they issued refund because I decided to go with a different product from somewhere else.

Now Zip balance has been restored but instead of being $1500 it is $1790.

This reflects my initial repayment of $290 being tacked on top.

I don't want that money on my zip account, I obviously want it refunded. I tried to "chat" with someone but just got the worthless AI bot, which I used to escalate for an email back from someone.

Have others experienced this? Is it a simple enough thing to get done?

I'm a little concerned because the app basically shows no option or acknowledgement that my account is now overpaid, it just acts like I now have $1790 available "credit."

edit: thanks for replies.

I just found the s on Zips website:

"When the refund is applied to you Zip account it will help reduce any owing balance; or, if you have no owing balance at the time, the refund will place your Zip account in credit. If this occurs, you're welcome to leave the additional funds in the account as a credit to use for your next purchase, or you can contact us for a refund to your nominated bank account."

Absolute BS lol. I never use Zip because I much prefer Afterpay or PayPal, but this solidifies my decision to outright delete the app and shut down my account after this affair is settled.

Installed my new Gaming OC RTX 5080 today...

And may I just say from the bottom of my heart I fkn hate that 12vhpwr connector. I almost forgot how uncomfortable the amount of pressure is you have to put on these stupid things to seat them. Awful feeling on your brand new expensive tech purchase.

Dynamic MFG on a 144hz...?

Hi folks.

So I have a 5080 about to arrive and I'm definitely looking forward to being able to use MFG, in particular MFGx3 in titles where it would be appreciable.

But my question is to folks who use it is there a way where I can cap it to my 144hz max refresh rate (42 inch OLED LG C5) and it actually won't exceed the frame target/cap and frame pacing etc looks all correct etc?

I'm considering getting a 32 inch 240hz OLED panel to better leverage the generated frame potential but I'm loathe to give up the expansive size and awesome HDR quality etc of my current display.

What is up with PLE pricing on RTX 50 series?!

I just bought a Gigabyte Gaming OC RTX 5080 and it cost me $1869 thru Umart, best price it was selling for. Most outlets have it around $2000-$2200.

I see PLE have it for $2814(!!), an outrageous mark-up tbh. It doesn't appear like these prices are because of the impending price hikes either cause it was like that days ago.

Just curious if anyone knows why they are so out of whack with the rest of the outlets? It's annoying for me because I have one 5 mins drive from my house but these extortionate prices mean I won't be using them any time soon for components.

*Upgrade to 5080, I need a nudge...either way lol

Hi guys

I currently have a 4080 Super, so I fully acknowledge I'm not at all the ideal candidate to be replacing my current GPU with a 5080. However, I've got the means to treat myself to a little tech upgrade (Aussie, so the 5090 is NOT feasible, they start at like $6k here which is bonkers) and nothing else is really that appealing at the moment. Rest of PC is top tier (9800X3D, 4TB 990 Pro, OLED monitor etc) so my only real desire would be for a bit more graphical oomphf.

I figure with a healthy little overclock the 5080 would provide me with about a circa 15-20% boost to performance on average, and allow the benefits of MFG (3x looks enticing)

I know the smart money would be to wait for a Super refresh or more ideally a 6000 launch, but both those things seem potentially pretty far away (or not at all in case of Super launch) given the current global situation.

To be clear I know this is 100% a want vs need kind of upgrade, just wanting some anecdotal accounts from members here who maybe made a similar "unnecessary" upgrade and whether they are happy they did it or not? Noticeable uptick or largely academic? Etc etc.

I'm on the fence as you can probably tell with my finger hovering over the "buy" button lol
