Umm wtf? Can someone offer some insight?
I initially made a purchase on Umart for a new monitor for $1160.49.
I made an initial repayment amount of $290.00.
I then cancelled order with merchant and they issued refund because I decided to go with a different product from somewhere else.
Now Zip balance has been restored but instead of being $1500 it is $1790.
This reflects my initial repayment of $290 being tacked on top.
I don't want that money on my zip account, I obviously want it refunded. I tried to "chat" with someone but just got the worthless AI bot, which I used to escalate for an email back from someone.
Have others experienced this? Is it a simple enough thing to get done?
I'm a little concerned because the app basically shows no option or acknowledgement that my account is now overpaid, it just acts like I now have $1790 available "credit."
edit: thanks for replies.
I just found the s on Zips website:
"When the refund is applied to you Zip account it will help reduce any owing balance; or, if you have no owing balance at the time, the refund will place your Zip account in credit. If this occurs, you're welcome to leave the additional funds in the account as a credit to use for your next purchase, or you can contact us for a refund to your nominated bank account."
Absolute BS lol. I never use Zip because I much prefer Afterpay or PayPal, but this solidifies my decision to outright delete the app and shut down my account after this affair is settled.
