Software/AI engineer getting serious about cold email — built an agentic outreach pipeline, looking for feedback
I’m a software and AI engineer, and until recently most of my freelance work came through referrals, friends, and people I already knew.
I had tried cold outreach manually before and got a few responses, but I never really treated it as a serious acquisition channel.
Now I’m starting to look at it more seriously, so I built an outreach pipeline around the whole process.
The agent handles the repetitive part for me: finding companies, researching them, identifying decision-makers, preparing personalized outreach, asking for approval, and handling follow-ups.
I keep everything in an Outreach Hub so I can track the state of each lead and see exactly what the agent is doing.
Cold email itself is still relatively new to me, so I’d really appreciate feedback from people here who have more experience with it.
These are the two main email templates I’m testing:
Template A
>Hello [Name],
>I saw that [Company] is hiring for the [Role] role. The listing mentions [task], as well as [task].
>I build AI assistant agents that can take on up to 70–80% of work like this ([examples]), so you only handle the 20–30% that really needs a person.
>If useful, I can send a one-page sketch of how it would work for this exact role. Would that be of interest?
Template B
>Hello [Name],
>I saw that [Company] is hiring for the [Role] role. The listing mentions [task], as well as [task].
>That kind of recurring coordination work is where I build AI assistant agents: to remove the routine follow-up, drafting, reminders, and document preparation around the role, so the person handling it can focus on the work that needs judgment.
>If useful, I can send a one-page sketch of how this could work for that exact role. Worth sending over?
I’d especially appreciate feedback on:
- A vs B
- whether the 70–80% claim feels too aggressive
- whether the CTA is low-friction enough
- the targeting approach
- anything you would change in the workflow
I’d also be happy to meet other people working in the same space, exchange ideas, and collaborate on projects together.
Here’s a short demo of the system:
Small note: English is my third language, so I used AI to help clean up the wording of this post. If your only contribution is “AI slop” or commenting on the writing style, please keep it to yourself. I’m looking for feedback on the outreach strategy, emails, and system itself.
