Gender terms and confusin

Hi! So I'm a bit confused. I've always known I was bi, but gender confusion set in around puberty? I'm 19F and I used to identify as non-binary but it didn't really fit what I felt. I feel connected to womanhood and my experiences as a woman but I don't really feel like a woman? I felt comfortable saying I was gender queer but nobody respects that? I think everyone sees that I say queer woman and assumes woman. Even my own very liberal parents don't really understand.

I'd be annoyed by it but I don't really understand either. Ever since I was a kid I'd express how I didn't always feel like a girl, and no matter what term I use, I still feel like an outsider.

I'm definitely a woman sometimes but a lot of the times I feel like I'm nothing? Why does anyone have to be anything? The whole situation makes me feel like I'm just weird.

Sorry if this didn't make sense but I just wanted to vent a bit.

Happy pride everyone from a, from my view, gender queer woman, whatever the heck that means.

For future questies

Hi.

I was a QB finalist who used to post on here semi-frequently. (You can look back at my posts if you'd like.)

I've been waiting to make this post for roughly a year.

I didn't have crazy stats

3.6 unweighted and a 4.3 weighted.

1280 on the SAT, 26 on the ACT

I was shocked to see that I was a finalist and when I didn't match, I felt so lost. My dream schools felt so out of reach and I didn't want to be doomed to my in-state options.

Guys, I got a full ride. For any questies looking for options, please consider applying early action to UW-Madison.

It allows you to be considered for BANNER, which is a grant program that covers full financial need for 4 years for Pell Grant eligible students.

Applying does not disqualify you from the match, as it falls under quest bridge exceptions (nonbinding+required for this particular aid).

UW-Madison is absolutely perfect for me and I am so happy and proud to have ended up there. It's a beautiful place with awesome people.

Please message me or comment if you want to know more about my experience. Remember guys, if you're like me, and you're wondering where to go and what to do, there are options.

I do not owe a dime and have so many good stories. I would love to give back to this sub, as it helped me so much while I was a scared highschool senior.

Edit:

Adding this for those curious, it's also on the qb website.

National College Match applicants who rank colleges cannot apply to other colleges through Early Decision, Early Action, or Single-Choice Early Action (also known as Restrictive Early Action). Even if you rank MIT, which is not binding, you cannot apply early to other colleges outside of the QuestBridge partnership.

National College Match applicants who do not rank colleges, or who are not selected as Finalists, are free to apply to any colleges for Early or Regular Decision.

*With the exception of MIT, which is not binding.

Exceptions to the QuestBridge Early Application Policy:

  • Students may apply to any college or university that requires an early application for eligibility to special scholarships or programs, as long as the admissions decision is non-binding.

  • Students may apply to their home-state public college or university with a non-binding early application option, as long as applying to QuestBridge does not violate that college's policies.

  • Students may apply to any college or university with a non-binding rolling admission process.

I personally fall under the scholarships/programs clause, hope this helps!
