Finally got to play Mood Swings the other day

And shocker, it’s fucking fun.

Am I being gaslit by people who are saying this game is too shallow or not fun? Has anyone actually played it with 3+ people? This game has sequencing, thinking turns ahead, board states, even light removal and extra turn mechanics. It even has a graveyard recursion ffs.

I don’t understand the hate for this, I do understand the hate for MaRo(understand but don’t think it’s any less ridiculous, we all have our own opinions on UB and etc) but letting that stop you from enjoying a genuinely good game is insane.

I hated the name of this game at first but it makes sense and the whole theme of moods felt silly but it’s very fun flavor wise. It’s also is perfect for people who like magic and those who have never touched a TCG in their life. The rules are simple to learn on the spot but the game has enough depth to keep you playing round after round.

One non magic player even commented on the “cool” art, which also proved my point that using magic art was a smart move indeed. I imagine we will get dedicated art from mtg artist if there are future iterations.

This game is absolutely a very loose lite version of Magic. It’s the idea of magic mechanic wise and it’s fun as hell and snappy. I highly urge anyone on the fence to give it a try and play it with a small group as intended. It’s a blast.

The game is actually great

Finally got a chance to bust it out to a few people and play, and well.. It’s very fun.

I mean like, it’s damn good. I was with my girlfriend who’s been learning to playing magic and her younger brother who has no tcg experience at all.

We were just hanging out after giving him a ride home from a concert and I pulled out the deck and asked if they wanted to play.

The rules were simple enough but the game can be very tricky. It’s pretty fast too but with enough strategy to keep you engage and constantly changing board. The whole them of moods is actually pretty fun to play around, and even the mechanic of choosing the first player by who felt the most recent mood on the bottom of the deck is a small but fun little thing to do.

This game has sequencing, thinking turns ahead, and even light removal and card interaction. It’s literally like they took the flavor of magic and watered it down, but in a way that actually didn’t make it worse.

The non magic player even remarked on the interesting art… which further proves that using magic art was a smart idea, because you know, it’s cool fucking art.

I really hope this game gains its footing because I really think it’s good and absolutely can create some new magic players as well.

It’s a little maddening the Pocket can’t tell you the time

Clearly the system tracks the time and date you set it to, so why not let us have a clock somewhere to check the time?

It’s something that’s annoyed me before but in this day and age many of us aren’t ever far from our phone. The only reason I will be in a few minutes is to have my battery replaced, so I brought the Pocket to kill time without my phone.

In a pinch I can check the set date and time setting itself before hitting “edit” but this isn’t a real time clock either as it will not change time from what it’s showing you.

It’s really perplexing this seemingly simple thing was left out of the OS. Are there any creative ways to find out the time on the Pocket? Perhaps loading up a pokemon save with RTC/a legit cart? Is there some obscure GB game that tells me the time? A core someone made perhaps?
