Clinical/ Product Specialist Roles - UK

Hello everyone,

I’m a physician with 12 years of experience, of which I worked as a Clinical Specialist for 1 year. I recently moved to the UK and all of my work experience is in India. I meet the basic requirements of the job as well, having a right to work and a full UK driving license. I have tailored my CV to Clinical Specialist roles (mostly surgical), yet haven’t found much success. Can anyone guide me on how to navigate the UK job market? I have clinical, product support and sales, medical education experience and I have made sure these get highlighted in my CV. It baffles me how my experience isn’t even getting me shortlisted.

I’d be grateful for inputs/ insight from people with knowledge on this matter.

Regards

Advise needed in choosing IVF Clinic

We’re a 35-year-old couple preparing for our first IVF after 3 failed IUIs.

Wife: BMI 29, hypothyroidism controlled on medication, normal TSH, AMH 0.34, AFC - 2-5 Right Ovary, Left Ovary - 5x5 cms simple cyst.

Husband: BMI ~36, no other health issues, semen analysis completely normal.
We’re confused between two clinics:

Clinic 1: Very experienced, well-known/pioneer IVF specialist with a strong reputation. About 2× the cost and requires travelling to another city. Suggested estradiol 2 mg from around day 16 for priming, then IVF + ICSI. Microfluidics may be used depending on the situation.

Clinic 2: Less experienced but reputed and convenient (in our home city), and much more affordable. Suggested progesterone 10 mg from day 16–26, then IVF + ICSI + microfluidics.

Both seem to have good labs and use EmbryoGlue, with the usual monitoring, stimulation, trigger, egg retrieval and embryo culture.

Our main question is: How much does the individual doctor’s experience matter in IVF beyond choosing the stimulation/priming protocol? How important are their decisions during stimulation, scans, trigger timing, egg retrieval, etc., compared with the embryology lab?

Also, can we simply ask Clinic 2 to use the same estradiol priming protocol as Clinic 1, or is it not that straightforward?

Would you personally pay 2× for the more experienced doctor, or choose the more affordable/convenient clinic if the lab is good?

Would really appreciate advice from people who have been through IVF, especially if you’ve had experience choosing between clinics.
