📺 App Update I'm bringing AutoVolume to Android TV — ambient noise volume adjustment for your tv
Hey everyone —
I’ve been developing AutoVolume for a few years now. It’s an Android app that automatically adjusts your phone’s volume based on ambient noise (loud environment → volume goes up, quiet room → volume goes down). It’s sitting at around 20,000 users on Android.
I’m now building an Android TV version, and the use case is a bit different:
- Kids talking, kitchen noise, conversations → TV volume automatically increases so you can still hear
- Room goes quiet → volume smoothly comes back down
- No more grabbing the remote every time something gets loud
- New idea: a reverse mode that lowers the volume when loud ads or sudden spikes happen
Still early, but I’d love to know if this is something you’d actually use on your TV setup.
What Android TV device are you on — Nvidia Shield, Mi Box, Chromecast, cheap stick?
Feedback welcome — happy to answer anything.
