I don't know how its in the US, but in Austria, a brokerage only has to give you 20k if something happens to your entire portfolio (embezzlement or other mistakes). So if you had 100k, 200k, or even more, and your broker messes up and your assets disappear, they are legally only required to pay you 20k, no matter how much your portfolio actually was in value.

Since you can't hold stocks/ETFs on your own but are required to use a broker as a normal person, you always have to bear that risk of your 100k or even more networth to getting reduced to 20k. (For everyone saying "Oh but btc also can drop in value so 100k can become 20k too. " Yes, but it can recover and go back to 100k just by waiting and nothing else. If you lose 80k in your stock portfolio, it won't recover from 20k to 100k just by waiting because the stock price didn't make it fall, it was the loss of your assets. You have to save the money again and invest for many years to go back to that level)

With Bitcoin, that risk of your asset holder screwing up doesn't exist, so it feels much safer.

Depots sind ja nur bis 20k gesichert, egal wie groß es eigentlich war - wenn der Broker mist baut (zB Veruntreuung) oder sonst wie die Vermögenswerte verschwinden, bekommt man als Entschädigung maximal 20k, auch wenn man 100k oder noch mehr drauf hatte.

Wie geht ihr mit diesem Risiko um? Teilt ihr eure Investitionen auf mehrere Broker auf um so gut wie möglich vor diesem Risiko geschützt zu sein?

In Gothic 2, you only get to explore the region thats connected to the north of the mine valley. But at the south and western end of the valley there are mountains too, suggesting there is an explorable world too outside of the g1 barrier.
In my opinion in gothic 2 we should have been able to explore the regions that are in the west and south too, not only the northern region

That its so much more hard and risky to use your btc as a collateral. With a broker and stocks, you can just choose to borrow against your stocks and the broker will hold your stocks as always, no change and no additional risk.

But when you want to use btc as a collateral, you have to give up custody, and custody is crucial when you own bitcoin, because unlike stocks, transactions can't be undone, there is no centralized entity who protects you from someone doing bad stuff with the bitcoin they hold in custody for you.

XL Candys back in 2020 where somehow used to "explain" why until now it wasn't possible to power up a Pokémon beyond Level 40 - because XL Candys didn't get into players hands until that update. Also to make a visible distinction for the brand new level range (41 to 50), to get people hyped. Like "wow, new higher levels, and you need a special new type of candy for that!"

But now that everyone is used to leveling up beyond 40, I think we don't need XL candies as an exlusive way for higher levels anymore, we should just be able to use normal candies (of course, a much larger amount than from Level 2-40). That way it would make the level aspect simpler again, just candy with stardust to level up your Pokémon, nothing else. I don't see any necessity in keeping XL Candy system anymore in it, do you? It just overcomplicates power ups and clutters the status screen. Now it just feels like a relict of a long ago time where they introduced them to hype up the new levels - it doesn't feel like something that makes sense in the long term.
