If i was stuck on an island and got rescued, would i be allowed to return and be left there?
What if it belonged to a country? Are there islands that dont belong to a country? would it belong to me? would somewhere claim it?
Could my government help me get back and leave me there, or would i have to boat myself there? would they stop me?
Im writing a book.
Demonising childbirth/pregnancy has gone too far
I definitely agree that women should be able to do what they want when pregnant and abortion should be easily accessible.
However, i think in the past few years, it has become too normal (esp online) to regard pregnancy and childbirth as disgusting
Calling pregnancy "body horror" or emphasising how gross you find it to others is just demonising womens anatomy and biology.
I do believe that SOME pro choicers have gone too far in accepting or even promoting abortion but turning their nose up at people who want to have children. Being pro choice means that whatever the person chooses should be supported.
I understand never wanting to be pregnant, because same, but i think going online and shaming women or calling something so natural, beautiful, and a big part of womanhood, disgusting ,isn't feminist.
Honestly, i think if a man said the same things about how gross and weird it is, these people would come at him and realise its wrong.
Did women in prehistoric times just have period blood dripping down them?
Would this have been a cleanliness issue if so (and would it off annoyed them), or did they have a way of dealing with it?
Obsessing over women to wanting to date bi men is stupid
Im not going to argue whether its wrong to have this bias or not as i think it depends on the person and their reasoning.
But even if it is just a bias , who cares it doesnt automatically mean they hate queer people, they just have a bias.
The majority of people prefer to date inside their group, for example, inside their race, religion or culture, but we dont label them as hating people they dont date, why is sexuality any different. Im a lesbian and i only seek out other lesbians to date. It's just easier on average, and they normally understand me better.
Nobody cares about the majority of the population dating inside their groups or puts any effort into changing their minds they recognise that its just easier to date people similar to you.
Its stupid to try to get people who dont want to date each other to date each other, just let them exist.
Tbh, it just seems like a non-issue brought up to again make women seem terrible. They are held to different standards than everyone else.
The misogyny vs misandy argument is many people having a misunderstanding of the question.
When asked "Whats worse, misogyny or misandry?" Some people are seeing it as what's worse on paper, and some are seeing it as what is harsher and has worse consequences.
On paper, yes, they are equal as they have identical definitions but are just against different genders.
But in terms of consequences and harshness, etc, i think it's almost impossible to argue that misandry is worse.
Anyways i think the patriarchy is a huge factor of both, and dismantling it will help both men and women.
Is it ok to change your gender for no reason but to change it
For example, if someone doesn't have a feeling inside them connecting them to a gender are they allowed to just pick one?
I see so many trans folk saying how they feel like their prefered gender on the inside and KNOW its who they are, but is it ok to just choose which gender you think cooler.
Is this like a controversial topic or anything bc I've never seen it discussed and just wondered.

The male lonliness epidemic is illogical

Why are men lonely but women aren't?
Why can't these men just befriend each other?
It just seems like something named to make men seem like they are suffering terribly when everybody gets lonely sometimes. Just be friends with eachother? Making it into a huge deal is only isolating people more, placebo effect yk.
I dont see male circumcision as the terrible, gross thing its made out to be.

The parents 99% of the time are doing it with no negative intentions and are doing it because it's normalised and expected. (And ofc theres the argument that it's cleaner, but just taking time to wash properly has the same outcome)
Its alot easier to get done young than later in life, and if you're young, you won't remember it.
It is done because it is seen as a positive and helpful thing for the person with no negative outcomes.
I think it's fine to see it as unnecessary, but labelling it as pedophilic and cruel is a huge overstatement.
I also hate when it's compared to FGM. FGM is done in an unclean, painful, and uncaring way whilst the vast majority of circumcisions are done in a sterile, professional environment. FGM is also done to actively harm and oppress women while circumcision is done as its seen as a good helpful thing for the person (and worst case, it will have no effect on them)
I think comparing the 2 does a disservice to FGM and makes it seem not as bad.
Abortion is acceptable because it is the justified killing of a human life.
This is mainly aimed at those who are pro choice but like to argue that abortion is ok scientifically by referencing what's not possible at different weeks, for example, and how that means its not a life. I believe thats a bad reasoning as its not 100% and hard to get people to change their minds. It's also convoluted and messy to argue.
An easier argument is to agree that a foetus IS a life, and abortion IS killing it, but due to the circumstances, it is justified.
Circumstances such as it taking resources from the mother, risking her life, causing physical strain, causing a huge emotional toll, and having no prior or current consciousness.
I think more pro choice people should use this chain of reasoning, but dont due to it having similarities with pro life arguments. I think thats ok because even if we disagree with someone on the whole, there can be parts their right about.
