Hey Everyone,
I am looking for some feedback on my current monthly ₹40,000 SIP allocation.
Here is how my capital is divided:
31.25% (₹12,500): HDFC NIFTY50 Equal Weight Index Fund
31.25% (₹12,500): Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund
18.75% (₹7,500): Motilal Oswal Nifty Midcap 150 Index Fund
18.75% (₹7,500): HDFC Nifty Smallcap 250 Index Fund
My Investment Rationale & Strategy:Time Horizon: I am planning to hold this portfolio for the long term (7 to 10+ years).
Risk Profile: Aggressive growth. I want a strong allocation to mid/small caps for alpha generation, balanced by large cap stability.
Large Cap Setup: I intentionally chose an Equal Weight Nifty 50 index over a traditional market-cap-weighted index to reduce concentration risk in the top 5 heavyweights.
My Main Concerns:Overlap: Does the Parag Parikh Flexi Cap fund hold too much overlapping exposure with the Nifty 50 Equal Weight index?
Index vs Active: I opted for passive index funds in the mid and small-cap segments. Is it better to switch to actively managed funds here to beat the benchmark?
Would appreciate any suggestions or adjustments you would make to this setup. Thanks!
