Is 3 weeks opiate-free enough to safely do ibogaine?
Here’s some context to my question: Long story short I was on SR17018 (research chemical used for experimental opiate withdrawal/cessation support) for approximately 60 days, crazy I know. At approximately anywhere from 30mg-150mg per day. And before that, Suboxone 2-4mg per day for 6 months.
I was originally planning to get off Suboxone and thought I was successful, but I stayed on the SR too long and started feeling so much symptoms when I quit. I’m currently on my honeymoon and it’s been annoying to feel withdrawal so I resorted to using low doses of Suboxone to get me through.
I have an Ibogaine ceremony planned for August 31 and it was recommended to me to be off all opiates 30 days beforehand. For safety reasons and to maximize the experience from my understanding.
My plan is to stick to about 1 to 2 mg of Suboxone for two more days and then stop on approximately 8/10 because I will have ran out and then white knuckle it all the way until 8/31.
I understand Ibogaine is used for opiate addiction, and there are various protocols out there to get on some form of a bridge medication such as morphine for heroin or fentanyl addicts to stop the morphine a few days before hand or something like that.
So I guess my question is more around Suboxone, and only using it for these few days and then stopping approximately three weeks before hand. Is there any danger in that? Will my system be clear enough? I want to get the most out of my experience! Thank you for any insights anyone could provide.
