A company that I never wound up working for sent me a brand new laptop, and then told me to keep it?

Long story short I got offered a job, they sent me a laptop I was supposed to get the login info for in an email prior to their virtual orientation, however, they no longer needed me by the time all that was supposed to have rolled around. I asked about what I should do with the laptop, and they were basically like “idk, keep it I guess.”

This was well over a year ago, and I’d honestly completely forgotten about the whole thing. Moved, got a job that actually hired me. I was cleaning out the winter stuff from my closet, and I found the laptop. I just tried to get in for the first time, and obviously, I cannot, because again, I never got any login info.

Is this just a very expensive brick right now, or is there a way to totally reset it? It’s an HP running windows.

IDL when people post videos on TikTok or some other short video platform presenting some Reddit story as if it’s their actual lives.

Like when people are like “let me tell ya what’s going on with me” and just embellish and take creative liberties on someone’s post from Reddit.

I’m not trying to be a hater but that shit is so cringey to me. With all the inflections they add, and the weird background info they insert, idk. I just do not care for it.

Hey all, I’m going back to school after 10 years in the Navy. I was in a technical field, did physics and thermodynamics and everything, and I understood it when I was in my classes 8yrs ago, but by the time I got out of the Navy last year, I just remembered the equations and not the foundation/ logic.

I’m looking at the Kahn academy, and there are a ton of good classes, but my fundamentals aren’t strong enough to just start in with pre- calc.

Should I look into algebra? Trig? I don’t really know where to start.

Any input would be great! Thank you in advance.

Hey all,

I did 10 years in the Navy, separated last year, and intend to capitalize on that “free school” to pursue an undergrad this fall.

I served in a very academically rigorous, VERY technically focused program, but even that was like 8 years ago. I have no idea what to brush up on, how to do it, or where my baseline is- ESPECIALLY concerning anything remotely abstract/ opinions based.

Did anyone who’s been away from academia for a while do any self study before getting back to it? Where did you start? What techniques, programs, or resources did you use? How did you find the gaps, and how did you catch up?

Any info is helpful! Thanks in advance.

Hello, 29F, I’m prior military so I can get discounted tickets! No one in my real life is able to make it, I’m willing to go alone, but if there’s a group of people already trying to go- let me know! I can get up to 6 tickets at the discounted rate, could facilitate some cheaper seats in exchange for not standing there alone.

To clarify this is the one on 5/2, I’m on a work trip for game one.
