Just wanna hear your guys’ thoughts.
How good/bad do you think this movie’ll be?
Personally, I think it might be a decent action/horror zombie movie with some random entities (like the big dude in the sewers) in it. I’m 99% sure he just slapped the name “Resident Evil” on it simply because of how much RE media has come out so far. RE9 definitely brought a lot of attention back to the series, or at least, it brought a lot more attention for people who haven’t played RE or haven’t played that much RE in their life. So sticking that name on any piece of media will garner a shit ton of attention and people will be interested. And with how bad the former RE movies were, people are going to be hoping that this movie is different and actually does well. I’m aware that Cregger wanted an original storyline instead of following the existing ones, and I very much respect that. After all, Capcom adding Ethan, an original character, saved the franchise. But I don’t think it’ll feel anything like RE. As much as I’d love to have a decent RE movie, there ain’t a snowball’s chance in Hell this stays accurate to RE. It looks more like a title for Cregger and I honestly don’t think he’s a big RE fan.
But that’s just me, I’d like to hear what you guys have to say.
