Dimetrodon grandis, the most well-known Dimetrodon species and the second largest of the genus.
Among the most famous ”not-dinosaurs”, dimetrodon was a very early synapsid that evolved 290 million years ago and had a very reptilian anatomy, while being more closely related to today’s mammals

Inostrancevia latifrons was the apex predator of the late Permian and is among the largest carnivorous synapsids to have ever existed
its size had been previously estimated to be 300-400 kgs, but these estimates assumed a shrinkwrapped reconstruction and severely underestimated its size. Modern volumetric analysis shows that it could weigh up to 700 kgs
